UHM, Sorry I did not notice that you only have 20 lands, my bad. You're completely right.

Bitterblossom will chip away at your life-total while giving you free flying blockers to give you more longevity and over-all more damage.

I love the Death's Shadow. I don't like Sangrophage Carnophage Is a much faster and cost effective answer. Bitterblossom is an amazing idea I would make it a 3 of maybe 4. Add 2 or 3 Umezawa's Jitte. Get rid of the Vendetta can't hit enough creatures. Replace it with Tragic Slip when the Treacherous Pit-Dweller dies you can kill it at instant speed.
You add counters to Treacherous Pit-Dweller so your opponent can't get it. Slitherhead comes to mind. Vampire's Bite doesn't do enough damage for a slot maybe run Bloodghast he will have haste about the time the Death's Shadow comes out for an extra push. Run fetch lands for extra life loss and deck thinning I would run 8. And maybe 4 Mutavault
Sorry looks like a lot of criticism but I really like the deck a lot and am interested in making something similar for modern good luck

In modern Carnophage isn't legal, neither is Umezawa's Jitte.
I do like the Tragic Slip idea.

Yep I realized my mistake after posted it. I am use to legacy.
I know its been said but Run Vampire Lacerator instead of the Sangrophage
2 Sword of Fire and Ice Or Runechanter's Pike is better than it looks first strike is really nice.
Toxic Deluge is also really good and you can pay any life helping Death's Shadow out a lot
Vampire Nighthawk is good if you need life gain but I don't think you need any.

have you considered Porcelain Legionnaire? he's whatever color you want ;).
He would basically be another Sangrophage in here.

Have you considered Phyrexian Obliterator to top out the curve? It's a massive beater and nullifies damage based sweepers like pyroclasm. I might just have a soft spot for the card though.

I love Obliterator but 20 lands means I'll probably never cast him. Sure it would be fun to AEther Vial in a Phyrexian Obliterator but I think he's more of a midrange than aggro tool. Phyrexian Totem is as good as it get's for this deck.
I love Phyrexian Obliterator too! I run him in several decks. My favorite being my modern Mono Black Control deck... Of Plague & Persecution Even his flavor text is bad ass. It's a quote by my all time favorite card Sheoldred, Whispering One

Hello Apple, now take this with a grain of salt but i think you could actually make this competitive. I think you take out Pit dweller for.. 4x Gravecrawler since your curve is so low i dont think AEther Vial is needed, possibly replace with 4x Bitterblossom , now were cooking. and Possibly Tragic Slip for Vendetta... like i said, with a grain of salt. Cheers

Also, if you decide to run Bitterblossom Bad Moon is a good 'lord' affect

APPLE01DOJ, are you actually a fellow Satanist?~
Deck seems good, but Treacherous Pit-Dweller seems REALLY janky. One of the reasons this dies to RDW is because it dies to bolt, givinng them a 5 power creature

I'm not a satanist in the form of the church of satan or in the form of the temple of set. I wouldn't align myself with illuminati form either although I do believe the Illuminati form to be true satanism. I prefer the lack of religion but use 666, the cross of St. Peter & cross of Nero to explicitly display my hatred for the Christian religion & the hell they have plagued this world with. I am not ignorant and don't blame the everyday sheep who simple believe in God as Christians trying to live their lives. ...that being said if I were born in a prison and have never known of the outside world I wouldn't look at the prison guards as they were as oppressors but as those who showed me what to do and how to live. Most likely I would look at them with admiration and respect. U get what I mean? Once I have opened my eyes I have no reason to close them.

Dweller in here works rather well but u have to be very aggressive when piloting. This deck used to run Hunted Horror but the dweller is far more manageable.

I see. Church of Satan first got me into it, but I quickly left it because a lot of it just didn't seem to make sense. I'm more of a non-practicing Theistic Satanist now. (I haven't summoned anything yet; I don't mean to sound like a Christian, but we seriously have no definitive idea of if these beings have alterior motives.) Since so many groups claim to be Illuminati now, I find it hard to think any of them would be. In essence, it seems you'd claim yourself as less of a Satanist and more of an Anti-Christian. (Not all Christians, obviously.)
I'm a former Christian, leaving after I truly learned to think for myself rather than be told what to think, and also after seeing how incredible the Bible is. (That is, opposite of credible, not a positive comment.) However, I don't hate Christians. I hate people who go to such extreme lengths to impose their beliefs on ANYTHING on others. Sadly, many of those people are Christians.
So, in place of Treacherous Pit-Dweller I'd suggest Geralf's Messenger.
Please, comment about how this is an MTG website and we have no right discuss anything else here. That's very helpful.

It is true that illuminati is a fashion statement these days but I specifically referring to the monarch bloodline and they're practices.
As far as going the Crowley way. I've had a few run ins with other worldly beings. One was always peaceful and I felt comfortable yet at time still weary around the other I believe to be a very evil essence that came to me in need of protection. I know that sounds crazy but there was a lot to support the theory. At times I was utterly terrified (crazy and I do mean crazy shit was happening) however I never feared the being myself. I have a few witch friends and one spoke to the essence againstMy conceit and when asked why it was here it told me "for me" and when further questioned implied that I didn't want to know what the other presence it was seeking protection from wanted to do to me. I had a 3rd experience with what I believe to be my cousin who passed away a few months ago as well.

This is a photo of my room with a beam of light appearing but the window that it's coming through is 100% sealed and blocked out. There is no way for light to get in the way it is.
This a photo of my coffee. This footprint appeared out of nothing.
No photo but I have a dagger that looks like a cross in my room if I ever hang it upright within a day it will fall off the wall and be on the floor but if I hang it like an upside down cross it'll never fall.

The thing about Christianity is that it has always been a religion of self hatred and control. It started out as a Jewish set. Even it's most famous executioners such as Torquemada, Hitler & Rasputin all are of Jewish lineage. :/

As much as I hate to say it, the coffee is probably just a coincidence. Confimration bias is a strong thing, as the human mind loves to search for patterns. However, the cross could be legitimate, especially since physics shouldn't have it that way.
People such as you with these forms of supernatural experiences are the reason I can never call myself an Atheist. It's very likely that some people are lying, perhaps most people are lying for attention. But not all of you. Labelling this many people as delusional seems idiotic. Of course, Christians also occasionally have experiences with their omnipotent omnipresent omniscient invisible spaceless timeless invisible god, but that's only because there are so many Christians, so many of them are bound to be lunatics, or seeking attention. A much higher percentage of people in practices such as Satanism, Wicca, Voodoo, etc... have had these experiences with supernatural forces, if not visual contact with the beings themselves. However, I've been an atheist most of my life. Thus the only thing I really know is that atheism can't be true, and that Christianity is either false, disgustingly awful, or both... Since personalitywise I'm mostly Red, and Satanism has the least restrictions of any of the magikal practices, it's the one I choose to research. Again, I haven't done any serious magick yet since it's hard for all of us to agree on what exactly these beings are like.
Moving from Magick to Magic, I think Geralf's Messenger works much better in this deck than Pit-Dweller.

that was meant to say coffee table. its not coffee. There was no liquid around to be spilled. It just kind of appeared one day. I'm aware though that the human mind is set up to find something if it looks hard enough, even if nothing is there...
I don't use the Messenger because of his CMC. This deck wants its Vials set at 2 and 2 lands on the field. Ive used him in other decks and he rocks in the right build.
The thing is this... There doesn't have to be a God or Deity of any form for us to have a soul and there doesn't need to be either for remnants of passed souls to remain. Perhaps they are simply beings that have reached another plane or form of existence.

A deck that runs at $800+ and runs a playset of Dark Confidant is not casual, by the way.

because this deck only runs 20 lands and u only get about 2-3 a game. Expecting to cast a 4 drop on time with 20 lands is just not going to happen consistently. besides this deck isn't a reanimator & scavenge (which I also don't use) can do the same thing for cheaper & most likely would come with a body.
