WanderingSpirit: Hey thanks for the suggestions...Captain Sisay is definitely a great inclusion. Not sure if I wanna give my opponents additional card draw with Selvala in my Stax build though. Paradox Engine is too situational for my liking in this deck, I am using Seedborn Muse instead.

I absolutely love this deck. Have you considered updating the deck post-DOM? Shalai might be good here, though I don't think she's better than Sigarda. Still, the buff she provides can help you win faster.I've played agro/ramp Karametra and enchantress Karametra but this is innovative and awesome.

SFCD: Yup, DOM added too many new toys that I am updating my other decks too. There are a few cards that I think are going to be pretty great in this deck..Shalai is a great addition actually.

I like that you replaced a few hatebears with more consistency. I used your deck as a starting point for my own karametra creature stax deck, but found that landing early hatebears quickly made me a target. I have had greater success when I focus first on getting the value engine online, and focusing on getting the key stax creatures out mid-late game. I definitely agree with your latest changes, as I am coming to the same conclusion. I'm leaving Hokori, Dust Drinker in though, because playing him to tapped-out opponents can trigger mass concessions.

Just a quick note, you have Terminate listed as a 6 CMC spell in your Strategy section, in the area concerning threats to Gaddock Teeg.
Feel free to delete this comment after you make the fix. (:

Very cool deck! I've been reading the primer since yesterday and see if this direction is one where I want to take my Karametra Landfall deck. I noticed you added in two 5 CMC planeswalkers. Are you confident you can get them out fast enough with all the natural ramp in the deck? How early do you usually try and get Gaddock Teeg out so he doesn't affect you playing these walkers?

elipyon: From all the playtesting, one thing I've noticed is that I desperately need card draw as I run out of gas fairly quickly. Both planeswalkers are great with card advantage and I often time it enough where I don't get affected by Teeg. I've also included Regal Force to help with the draw. Teeg can also be bounced back with Temur Sabertooth if I need to cast any of my walkers. Since I'm playing hatebears, getting walkers out quickly isn't the priority as it's more like a mid range card to refill my hand. Hope that helps!

Enral, thanks for your reply. I totally understand. I've been keeping up with the changes. What do you think about using Amulet of Vigor and Prowling Serpopard?

So I changed my Karametra deck to be close to this (Lotus Cobra instead of Bloom Tender, Kamahl, Fist of Krosa instead of Craterhoof since I forgot to swap it in, and Growing Rites of Itlimoc Flip instead of Gaea's Cradle) for Commander Night at my store today. Honestly it performed pretty spectacularly. I won 2/3 games I played with it tonight. Two combos I got to use were Archangel of Thune + Spike Feeder and Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite + Kamahl, Fist of Krosa off of a flipped Growing Rites of Itlimoc. Mostly won though just swinging out with infinitely huge creatures or trample overrun. I had a blast with the deck. Felt only right to report in, haha. Thanks again.

Please provide updates for this deck! I'm getting back into EDH after years of hiatus and chose this deck list to copy as my reintroduction deck. :)
I'll report back once I get all the pieces and test it out at my LGS but I would love to hear if anything has changed on you

Nice to see an update! I've been playing this deck a lot since building it and have been finding a lot of usage out of Selfless Spirit for extra board protection, Nissa, Vastwood Seer Flip for more draw/ramp, and Defense of the Heart, which is nuts with Emeria Shepherd if you can protect both of them. I think I'm going to give Green Sun's Zenith a try though since it looks super versatile. Curious as to why you went back to Kamahl, Fist of Krosa over Craterhoof Behemoth though?

Shawasha: I'm still in the process of updating it but it should be ready by next month. Will be interested to hear how this deck fairs in your LGS!
elipyon: Defense of the heart is a good suggestion especially its combo with Emeria Shepherd. The only reason why I didn't include it in the first place was due to Teeg. But I think it is too good a card to pass up on. The reason why I went back to Kamahl is because I can politic better and threaten land bases to deter boardwipes. I can also activate him multiple times unlike Craterhoof which I would have to return to my hand with Sabertooth to get the trample effect again.

In your experience, how does this deck stack up against fast combo competitive decks? I'm interested in playing but afraid it might not be fast enough.
January 16, 2019 3:06 p.m.
Shawasha: This deck is meant for a focused to optimized pod. When you say fast combo I assume you mean cEDH which this deck would definitely not work well. For cEDH, I would recommend looking at Captain Sissay with the Paradox Engine build. He is a pretty good hatebear/combo general capable of holding his own in a cEDH pod. Good luck!

Sissay is definitely not a dude. :P That aside, I love this deck!

Shawasha Unfortunately I've currently retired the deck and converted it over to Sigarda, Host of Herons hatebear/voltron due to meta reasons.

This is looking solid! How about Selvala, Explorer Returned? She and Captain Sisay are a tutor and ramp engine, especially if you have a Paradox Engine. It makes sense with the amount of legendaries you've got in here. Anyway, awesome deck!
