A budget version of aggro loam with a (hopefully) catchy name
Intro:
First off, remember this deck is supposed to be budget, so while cards like Dark Confidant, Tarmogoyf, Thoughtseize, the various fetchlands and shocklands are all very nice, unless you are willing to give them to me, please refrain from suggesting them as it breaks my heart that they are way above my price range.
Now to the deck, the general strategy is to get Seismic Assault out and in combination with Life from the Loam discard a tonne of lands and burn everything your opponent controls, including them. While I feel that this deck already holds its own very well against aggro decks, it does have some trouble against midrange and without sideboarding, a lot of trouble with control.
The core cards:
Seismic Assault, Life from the Loam and lots of land, the synergy between these cards should be obvious
Support cards:
Raven's Crime
helps to keep there hands empty with the potential for silly amounts of recursion
Flame Jab while not amazing on its own, if you have burning vengeance out it can certainly ruin someone's day
Faithless Looting is very nice card draw and its downside won't have a huge impact on this deck due to the graveyard interactions
Lightning Bolt and Firespout are for dealing with creatures or in Lightning Bolts case dealing some additional hurt to the opponent
Manamorphose great budget colour fixing that mostly removes the need for those expensive lands, it also replaces itself which is great
Past in Flames allows you to recast your bolts, manamorphoses and faithless looting it does have its uses. It is also fun to cast a bunch of spells from your graveyard if you have
Burning Vengeance
out
Burning Vengeance
when combined with cards like
Raven's Crime
, Flame Jab and any card with flashback this becomes an alternate wincon
Please feel free to comment on this deck be it suggestions, saying how awesome it is :) etc
PS, I am still working on the sideboard, despite this not being that competitive so suggestions there would be very welcome
PPS, thanks for taking the time to read this description and I hope you enjoy the deck
