Mutavault should be a 3 or 4 of in a sliver deck for sure.

HappehNinja says... #2

Actually three Mutavault are okay at most. Four would be overkill, and could potentially damage opening hands and draws.

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it.

Hmmm, I would think the risk would be pretty low as long as you are running 4x Manaweft. The only early play cards that require two colored are Simic Charm and Detention Sphere. 3x probably is best, though.

I tried same thing... I'm back to 4x Manaweft Sliver 's..... LOL

I just started playing with the Progenitor Mimic , worked well on my Battle Sliver .. it's a shame this is missing red .... (not a suggestion, just sayin red is nice)

Not really lookin to make changes.... but... I think Detention Sphere should be side boarded and bring in Render Silent .... LEAVE MY SLIVER ALONE.... Bitch!

Amazing lookin deck... +1 again if will let me....

Switching Detention Sphere with Render Silent sounds like a pretty interesting suggestion. After my next performance at FNM, if things go sour, I'll surely give it a try.

Thanks for the support. As always, I appreciate it.

did I get this mixed up with another deck I saw? or did you earlier have Garruk, Caller of Beasts in this deck?.... I was actually gonna suggest Garruk, Primal Hunter instead... the second option... draw cards...(cast him and kill him for this ability).. that is only problem i have with sliver decks.... i'm usually "top decking"

Yeah, slivers usually have aggro builds, and aggressive decks tend to play from the first hand and continue top decking for the rest of the game. This one though, is a little more technical. I am planning to fix drawing, but that has to wait for Theros though.

I DID had Garruk, Caller of Beasts included, but I decided that he was no good unless I made it a four colored sliver or if the deck was mostly packed with creatures (which I am not too exited about). Personally, I think that Garruk, Primal Hunter is way better than the current Garruk...

I like this build here a lot. Seems to have the answers for board wipe and removal. I would change Syncopate with Dispel mostly cuz you are going to want to counter a counter and not really much else in these instances. especially since you are running artifact and enchantment removal sideboard. if not Dispel then Negate .

Interesting suggestion. I'll test Dispel and Negate tomorrow. Thanks for the input, I appreciate it.

Door of Destinies is very strong in almost any sliver deck. More specifically ones running red and blue for 4x Striking Sliver and 4x Galerider Sliver .

I always hate seeing only one set of 1 drop creatures. haha but it does work for your deck and I really like this.

What do you make of Prophet of Kruphix in here? He seems to address the biggest problem you'll have with this deck - namely that you'll often find the temptation to play another sliver on turn 4, when you should be saving Ready against a wipe. With the Prophet you can do both...

I think I like him a lot more than AEtherling , especially since being able to flash in slivers is insanely relevant! (dang, Megantic Sliver as a combat trick)

HappehNinja says... #16

Aye, Prophet of Kruphix has potential. I am still pondering on what to add when Theros releases, but this card makes a strong candidate. You have some remarkably nice observation skills, as I do have problems usually by turn 4. Thanks a lot for pointing her out, iceteademon.

I gave it a test run and while I didn't have the greatest hand to start off with the biggest problem I had was holding a Sphinx's Revelation waiting to cast after the Prophet of Kruphix untap with a Breeding Pool on the field and no 2nd source of blue. Not sure if you're willing to cut the only Forest for another Temple of Mystery maybe? Or maybe a Syncopate for a 23rd land.

Overall though I like the idea. The Sliver choices are cheap and efficient, and the use of Ready / Willing for counter mana or floating mana to cast a bomb is genius! Have you considered Supreme Verdict for the SB against aggro? You could float the Sliver mana, cast Ready / Willing , throw down Verdict and beat your defenseless opponent into a pulp.

Keep us updated!

HappehNinja says... #22

Yeah I do have Supreme Verdict in my possession and gave it it some thought about adding it on the sideboard. Problem is that it can potentially threaten my own creatures as well, even though I could have Ready / Willing saving my butt. Although it is a very nice observation and depending on the next sets from the Theros block, I could see their addition to the sideboard.

Having a fourth Temple of Mystery could increase the chances of having a slow start with a Galerider Sliver in hand, although I agree that a 23rd land should be added. I'll give it some thought.

Thanks for the support emrakool, I appreciate it. Also, a general thanks to everyone that shared their thoughts and suggestions.

I'd probably remove the Thassa or maybe one of the Syncopate s for another Prophet of Kruphix to improve consistency. Getting the devotion for Thassa seems almost impossible in this deck, although her other abilities are nice.

More coming.

Erm... thanks for pointing that out, Matsi883. Now I know that I willingly gave away that match. My bad. I've updated that particular section of the FNM report.
