This is a really great deck +1 honestly the only thing i see here is the Arbor Elf and Vampire Nighthawk which seems to not fit in the deck really.. I would actually take out 2 Arbor Elf and squeeze in the Forced Adaptation but its a really great deck gives me ideas!

Vampire Nighthawk fits in any B deck... he is that good. He slows down aggro, can trade with any creature that attacks, and gains you life. As an added bonus is this deck he can be scavenged onto to make a large lifelink beatstick. I agree on Arbor Elf but having a bit of ramp so that you can stabilize against aggro could be a need.

Ya actually I do agree with you on the nighthawk part its just i feel like there is something better besides the elves

The elves are a nice mana ramp, its a fairly slow deck so they just help speed it up slightly. Not sure what I will replace them with when they go out later this year
Putrefy , I am just getting a playset and they will replace Naturalize , Murder and Tragic Slip

Honestly I would run Acidic Slime out of your SB even after you get the putrefy's. Slime is much better than Naturalize

Thanks, unfortunately since slime is leaving standard shortly I probably wont try to find them. Your suggestion is welcomed though

You might have to bite the bullet and get 2 Abrupt Decay . Not a full playset but 2-3. They will eliminate most enchantments that will be worth getting rid of (Oblivion Ring , Detention Sphere , etc). I would take stab and say o-ring will be reprinted in m14. The reason I say decay is most enchantments that are and going to continue to see play and are a threat are 3 cmc or less. If you don't see them, either SB out or leave them in for more creature removal.

Excellent Idea I'll find a couple. O-ring has pissed me off a few times

Deadly Recluse seems like a useful sideboard for either Death Touch and/or anti-flying. But NOT a mainboard option. (especially when you have Death Touch somewhere else in your deck)
Rubblebelt Raiders + Corpsejack Menace = One BIG critter really fast! Paying 3 green for it is no problem.
Sengir Vampire < Scavenging Ooze < Lotleth Troll
In your sideboard I would STRONGLY advise against having only 1 copy of any card. Subbing in only one copy is an extremely minor tweak and will not "single handedly" counter another deck type. You need at least 2.

Slaughterhorn actually works well as a power up card. If you think about it... Swing your Sengir Vampire a 4/4 -> Pump him to a 7/6 He hits for 7 then you use Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord to "fling" him and you just dealt 14 damage in a turn and "6" of it came from the Slaughterhorn .
BTW - Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord is pretty awesome, you should have 2 in here if you can get them!

Thanks for those comments Zacoly, they have certainly given me something to think on.
Sengir Vampire < Scavenging Ooze <Lotleth Troll do you mean that ooze is better than vampire but the troll would be best of all?
In terms of the Deadly Recluse I find more than anything that they are just excellent stallers. This isn't a fast deck and deathtouch is my mine time buyer, would you have any other options instead? I used to run Vampire Nighthawk s but had to cut them due to rotation

I would play more Desecration Demon over Sengir Vampire Because of the lower mana cost, and because your running Burst of Strength them tapping him is not a big deal. And even if they have alot of sackable guys you can just fling him with Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord and scavenge with Varolz, the Scar-Striped .

Im surprised you dont run Grisly Salvage it works really well with scavenge.

Funnily enough I have actually pulled a play set out of the mass, I just haven't got around to getting them in yet. Good call though, thanks

funnily enough, funnily is a word, I know this because the little red squiggly line doesn't come up under it when I write it. Definitely not because I am bright

drop the gaze of granite, you don't need to wipe the board because you'll have a stronger presence anyway. remember while building your deck, you want your mana curve to be centered around 3. basically, you want 3 to be the most common converted mana cost for all your spells. that assures that you won't draw a hand of fatties first turn, or draw too many weak cards late game when they won't help enough. doing that is the biggest improvement you can make to your deck right now.

I am struggling to find a couple more Arbor Colossus , I only have one, but when I do they will make their way in, cos they are sweeeet, even when not being used to scavenge.

Sylvan Caryatid is better than Voyaging Satyr for this deck, you don't use that devotion land for satyr to be worth using over
November 24, 2013 1:29 a.m.
Excellent thought, I'll see if my local store has some, they are nice
November 24, 2013 2:34 a.m.
Thanks for that good air, I found a playset of Sylvan Caryatid and have swapped them out

Naturalize is now weak in the format now that we have putrify. 1 more CMC is worth it for more utility. Honestly with all the deathtouch/sac elements you have... I would mainboard more tragic slips. Murder is just bad for 3 mana. Maybe consider Ghoultree.
