Well I suppose it had to happen at some point. I don't agree with their logic as to why it should be banned but that is a discussion for a different day. After the initial rage settled down I started brainstorming what to swap around in the deck.
My immediate thought was Peek but my concern is with the raised average CMC is I would be needing an additional land and I need as few of those as possible here. Next for consideration was Noxious Revival, a card I was already considering to put in the deck, and the more I thought about it the more it seemed like a natural fit. It gives my deck a way to recur my win cons if they get Inquisitioned or Thoughtseized, it helps keep me from milling myself out if I start playing a bit like a storm deck, and it can help fill my graveyard for Pyromancer Ascension by returning Thought Scour or Faithless Looting. I am considering throwing in a Breeding Pool to replace an Island just so I have access to some G mana if I start getting low.
The other card getting swapped out is Quicken it was always meant as a budget fill in for Visions of Beyond but now I have a card I would actually be satisfied with replacing Visions with and that is the aforementioned Peek. As I said in the initial deck description I am not fond of "win more" cards as I would rather have consistency than potential explosiveness.
So the swaps are as follows...
- 4 Gitaxian Probe
- 4 Quicken
+4 Noxious Revival
+4 Peek
Tentative
- 1 Island
+ 1 Breeding Pool
