You should consider Plaxcaster Frogling to protect your fatties

Definitely the frogling it is really good. Also, Fathom Mage is amazing draw.

Not sure what I'd pull for Plaxcaster Frogling, Mindless Automaton or Fathom Mage though.

It's amazing how quickly 100 cards goes from "wow that's a lot" to "Crap... i need more slots..."

You have a two color deck with lots of fixing, is Cryptolith Rite doing much for you? Wild Growth is a ramp spell which provides no experience and makes one of your lands a 2-4-1. Would drawing into more gas/ramp be better, or protecting your commander?

Cryptolith Rite has saved my butt a few times, especially against control decks where it's allowed me to pull out other creatures to outrun their bounce threat. It's really come in handy when Ezuri was out and I had to kick casting Wurm Calling for exp when I'm also playing Sage of Hours heh But... I do need more draw as I have a habit of ending up Draw Playing... hmm

Wild Growth - I could replace that with Plaxcaster Frogling, it helps but 1 extra mana isn't a huge deal...

The fathom mage is a really good card but it is sideboard material for now if you can't decide what to take out. It can help by giving you draw and a big creature to have board presence, but not much else. The automaton must go in for the insane draw, and with these draw cards, consider Lorescale Coatl. Traumatize doens't fit in with Ezuri though so maybe drop that?

Lorescale Coatl is already in.

Traumatize has usually been used to hurt opponents, and has been pure awesome with Kessig Cagebreakers but that pairing rarely pops... It's one of those "dream combos" that sounds good but just doesn't seem to be worth the slots in practice for just those few times you can do it.

So maybe Traumatize and wild growth can go.

I think I'm going to drop both Caller of the Pack and Broodbirth Viper - maybe replace them with token or counter creators. Thought being I don'y need biggies, I need more tokens and counters. Myriad is nice but eh.

Pulled Traumatize but replaced with Imprisoned in the Moon. It's just useful, especially in my 1on1s.

Still waiting on my Frogling and Mindless Automaton.

I think now I'll focus on a sideboard.

Mutant's Prey can be helpful for getting rid of threats. When it comes to dropping cards for others in your maybeboard, let me comment on that.

  1. Broodbirth Viper-doesn't help you much. It gives you decent draw, but it doesn't even give you xp for it's clones.

  2. Caller of the Pack-too expensive, no xp, not even a bonus from dealing damage

  3. Illusory Ambusher-really expensive for what it does, you will only get 1 draw from it in the beginning and it isn't good enough to waste a turn putting coutners on it

  4. Will-Forged Golem-expensive and doesn't give you any benefits

  5. Second Harvest-this seems to only be useful some of the time.

  6. Day of the Dragons-will get rid of all of your hard fought counters-when your creatures re-renter, yes you can get a crap ton of xp and etb triggers, btu all the buffs you put on them go away and the tokens don't come back. a single Declaration in Stone removes your hard work and the enchantment is still on the field.

The_Grape, agree with most of your suggestions - I have a fondness for Myriad due to having gotten back into playing by doing multiplayer games with coworkers but will be removing them for other stuff listed previously.

Second Harvest is wonderful when I have a ton of tokens on the field. In fact, with I had it today in my Atraxa Spore deck. So that's a maybe.

Day of the Dragons is similar - when I have 10-15 tokens in play, mostly 1/1 and 2/2, they all become 5/5 flying. Having a bounce card at the ready to respond to opponent is useful though, yes.

Like everyone else, I really think you need to add Fathom Mage, that's the best add in my opinion. I have my own Ezuri deck here and she's the best card draw engine you can abuse with this deck. I'd also recommend:

Hardened Scales

Simic Manipulator-lots of decks can't function if you steal their commander

Invisible Stalker

Fungal Sprouting (can get you a TON of XP)

Vorel of the Hull Clade

My recommendations to cut are

Broodbirth Viper - the copies don't come in with counters and don't add experience and he doesn't provide any utility. So he's basically just a 3/3 body that can do an extra 3 damage to each player. You can stack counters on any body and make it huge, so you need creatures that offer either utility or threat outside of their counters Fathom Mage is utility, Invisible Stalker is threat that's hard to kill.

Will-Forged Golem - Same as the Viper above, he's just a body, no utility or threat.

Wild Growth - just not that impactful, you've already got some great ramp in your deck.

Overgrowth - Same as Wild Growth

Lorescale Coatl - Had this guy in my deck for a while, but at the end of the day he's just a body, you get bigger impact from Vorel of the Hull Clade or Wild Beastmaster at the same casting cost.

I would suggest running a Cauldron of Souls to keep nice stuff on the field and have wipe protection. You can put counters back on to negate the negatives (and use it again), and it offers you extra triggers for your commander.

You currently have 13 creatures with 1 toughness that will die on ETB. However, they will still proc Ezuri (0 < 2), and Champion of Lambholt will likely gain enough counters to survive.
