  • Emberflux: Hey! Yeah, i'm waiting for Funeral Charm to get the new frame. Using Isochron Scepter is frowned upon in my playgroup, so I have to avoid it unfortunately. Also, I'm waiting for my 4x playset of Waste Not , it is truly an indecent card... let's see how it fares. I'll take a look at your deck by the way! Thanks for commenting man, much appreciated.

  • Rotinaj: see above. Thanks for the suggestion... man of few words huh?

  • dadadart: had her, took her out... too slow for this style. Thanks anyway!

  • Bobustouchdown & malfeischylde: Dark Ritual is very tempting but... what can I take out to make room for this card? Ideas are welcome

  • mattuch: I used to have that enchantment but was unsteady, depending on 2 effective discards... it is slightly unuseful in the mid-late game when the opponent starts top-decking. I will go take a look at your deck, see how it works. Thanks for passing by.

  • Dr.Necro: Thanks, I blushed. I'm seriously considering Dark Ritual , the problem is: what should I take out?. Also, the onion is dead, congratulations :D You should feel empowered by now.

  • anotherbox: thanks for the compliment! I have to get the last The Rack for this deck... it is a sick card.

Thanks to all of you for commenting and reviewing this deck, the feedback is essential! See you around and keep it coming

Nice deck. I think Nyxathid and Dark Ritual wouldn't really fit together, since you wouldn't want to cast Nyxathid early. Have you considered Wrench Mind or Barren Moor in here? Although you have Sign in Blood's here, so the Barren Moor wouldn't probably be necessary.

Wouldn't you be better off with a Smother or something, rather than the current removal? I would also advise some kind of -1/-1 board wipe, such as Black Sun's Zenith or a Toxic Deluge . I am building a Golgari version of this deck, currently, so I may have many more suggestions, but I am still straightening everything out in my mind, as well.

Oh man, I forgot about this deck and how much it touched me (not that way sicko....) anyways I would suggest taking out one Nezumi Shortfangand putting in Dark Ritual or a search card. Also Leechridden Swamp really does not have a place in this deck so I would put in a swamp or dark ritual. thank you for mentioning me so I could see this deck again.love you! (not that way... god....)

Raven's Crime is often used with Dakmor Salvage in Modern. Maybe you could try it as a one of so you can dredge if you run out of gas.

8-Rack isn't 8-Rack without 4x The Rack and 4x Shrieking Affliction . Either run all 8, or don't run any. 4 is too inconsistent. Nezumi Shortfang really isn't a valid substitute. If you're trying to go for a budget version of 8-Rack, you can check out this deck for some ideas if you like: *Budget Legacy* - 8-Rack. If you aren't looking to build a budget deck, then 4x Liliana of the Veil is the first place to start. Followed by a playset of Wasteland and Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth .

  • Saljen: Who the hell do you think you are?
FYI: I am missing 1 The Rack because they were not in stock when I bought them. This shit is acts as an 8+ rack, punk, and beats the crap of whatever comes across its way, and now please, drag yourself back to your cave and have a nice day.

@Busse - Wow, didn't expect that kind of reaction for a simple comment. If you can't take constructive criticism then don't make your decks public. Nothing in my previous comment was meant to be offensive. Though your response does prove you to be a bit childish. Good day.

I think you should include some graveyard robbing. After discarding all those cards You will have plenty of options to take. Good focus already but, i could see grave robbing them for the easier win as well.

Needs more Liliana of the Veil and smallpox.

November 26, 2014 1:26 p.m.

Your avg. CMC is only 1.65 right now. Dark Confidant could do nice work here. Also, maybe switching some stuff out for a copy or two of Thoughtsieze might be a good idea. Raven's Crime and Blackmail are pretty bad in comparison.

December 2, 2014 8:15 a.m.

Also, if you want more than four Sign in Blood then you can use Night's Whisper. It's almost never worse, and if you really need the two damage of a Sign in Blood on your opponent, then two cards should give it to you.

I noticed your list seems to be budget, so I'll keep my suggestions affordable :)

Raven's Crime works best with either a 1- or 2-of Dakmor Salvage or a green splash for Life from the Loam; what do you think of these?

I'd also look at Mutilate or Drown in Sorrow to keep you alive, as most 8-Rack builds run Ensnaring Bridge to allow the slow win-con to have time to work. Obviously that card is quite expensive though, so some budget in-colour sweepers will probably do the job, and gain you virtual card advantage. Of course, I'm used to creatureless 8-Rack, but maybe one Mutilate mainboard in place of a Victim of Night and 1 or 2 in the board against aggro/midrange?

Finally, what are your thoughts on Smallpox, Funeral Charm, or Hypnotic Specter?

+1. I really really like this. Very well done. :D

Played this and I got stomped. Couldn't get my racks out. Actually never saw more than one rack or the black alternative per game.

I actually really like what you have done here. I might try running this or something very similar soon.

For starters: thanks to all of you who have commented and upvoted the deck. It is much appreciated!!!
And, sometimes with delay, I deliver!:

Here's the sacrifice I promised

The deck changed just a little bit: I re-added Painful Quandary. It is so freaking powerful that it locks down the opponent by turn 5 or 6. Also Sewer Nemesis was the right thing to add in terms of using the opponent's graveyard. Thanks for commenting, upvoting and reading. Keep it up and share the love.

  • **Jesstilence & pko9000: I'm glad that you liked the deck! Upvote and maybe you can check my other decks in the cycle! Cheers!

  • JexInfinite: Not very efficient, already tried it. Cabal Therapy works best when you have that and Duress only! ;)

  • FindleMan: GY stealing is a nice concept, but this focus mainly on hand-hate. I tweaked the build, I now can use the GY with Sewer Nemesis. It grows very rapidly.

  • zyphermage: Nope. Maybe yes to that liliana. Smallpox doesn't work here.

  • TheUnspeakable: I'm aware that Thoughtseize might be better, but it is expensive. Thanks for the feedback though man!

  • razvaniorga: my thoughts on Hypnotic Specter? Well, it goes with the theme... but it requires the "deals combat damage", so it is a little vulnerable to removal, and sometimes a dead drop altogether. Smallpox hits you too... and hits you hard. With just 7 creatures, I can't afford to lose board presence. And with the focus of this deck, you shouldn't be seeing many creatures. For everything else, there's Victim of Night.

Have you considered Funeral Charm? It goes with your theme but still offers some versitily and the agressive casting cost would make it a nice addition.

September 26, 2015 4:17 p.m.

plus 1. I don't know the deck well enough to suggest changes.

  • corpse_machine: Thanks for the vote anyway man!

  • JaceSeeker: Yes, it's a possibility. I'd love to see that reprinted but I doubt they will :(
