The extra Verdict is for Grixis control, Merfolk, Grixis Delver, and Faeries. All of which are considered T1.5 and up.
I may drop the fountain for another Wildwood, however a lot of tapped lands can really hurt the opening hand sometimes.
You're right on the versatility of Cryptic, however that snag is there because i needed more early game stall/removal against decks like Affinity,Infect, and Delver decks. Plus, it helps to bounce my own Snapcaster to replay him later or bounce Geist to get in a free 4/4 angel token hit when he's blocked. Kinda mana-intensive to do that with Cryptic.

I'm still not sold on the Geist. I don't think he's reliable enough.
Also, you really want the 2nd Wrath in the board, not the Verdict. What deck are you going to want Wrath effects against that plays counterspells?
