Love the idea. I would recommend Shock in place of Coordinated Assault though, because it gives the same pumps and can go straight to the face or deal with a troublesome blocker. If only Lightning Bolt were still around...

Yea I forgot about Shock 's versatility. I will definitely throw it in, since it is a one drop. Thanks for the suggestion Lup3rcal

Since you are running Dynacharge just to exile, I think you could replace it for Mugging . It is still an one drop that you can exile, but you can use it for removal and or clearing some blockers than triggering chiper if that is the case. I guess the only drawback is that it is a sorcery..I can also think of Blustersquall for clearing blockers with the possibility of an overload and Dispel that would allow you to counter some stuff..

November 27, 2013 10:14 a.m.

I feel like the instant speed is more valuable than the Mugging , since I can play it in between the first and regular strike when I play Armed . Since I feel like I'm playing more aggressively, I can don't really need to slow them down and tap their creatures, even if it's to get damage through, since I have Aqueous Form . Dispel is side boarded because to be cast it, there has to be an instant, but it is in my sideboard.

If you'd like to avoid the drawback of having to target Akroan Crusader without giving up it's payoff, you should try using Young Pyromancer . It costs one more mana, but it's still cheaper than Nivix Cyclops and nets you 1/1 Red Elemental Tokens for each spell, even the ones used for fueling Nivmagus Elemental (even the Cipher triggers).

Have you considered Firedrinker Satyr ? I normally don't care much for the card, but in this deck he might fit. His draw back is pretty superfluous since you're the aggressor in every match you'll play, and he's a 2/1 for 1 mana that gives you something to do if you run out of fuel for your dudes, which the deck seems like it will do occasionally. Probably not a four-of, but he might be worth a try.

Yea I'll consider both Firedrinker Satyr and Young Pyromancer . Il test this deck out tomorrow at FNM and see what it needs

I really like it! That's awesome, I never saw how cipher interacted with Nivmagus Elemental . Great job. +1

First off, +1 from me, I like the concept- this is a hell of a glass cannon deck and I hate Esper control as much as the next guy.

In your first fast win scenario, I keep getting to 19 damage on turn 3 unless I eat the ciphered copy. You seem to say its optional. Small nitpick, but confused me a bit.

Second, how much luck have you had with this? IMO, any decent esper deck will have a 2 drop removal-Doom Blade to be specific- and that seems to muck up your plans. have you noticed this in testing?

November 29, 2013 5:07 p.m.

Yea, that's where the sideboard comes in. For esper, I throw in the Mizzium Skin , Dispel , and Swan Song to get rid of those threats. Esper stills slows me down, since I have to leave mana open, but it keeps my creature alive. I got nothing for Supreme Verdict , but hopefully we'll have won by then.

And thanks for pointing that out. I guess I did my math wrong there. I'll fix that.

reminds me of U/R Nivmagus Modern

too bad Slaughter Pact and Gut Shot aren't standard

Wow, I really like your deck. +1. I liked it, and I thought that I would try make my own version of it, with a splash of green! Irindu gonna try to stop Nivmagus?. I hope you can look at it and comment on it.

Ever consider Ordeal of Thassa ? It gives you a free counter then makes you draw 2 cards. It could be a possibility instead of just divination

December 3, 2013 7:12 a.m.

Yea that's a good idea. Thanks!

Hi! Your deck looks really nice. Im just wondering, your avg. CMC is 1.50 so is it possible to drop lands to 18? If you do this you could add few more spells

if you put in Triton Fortune Hunter you can cast spells targeting him with spells draw cards then exile the spells with Nivmagus Elemental and there are a bunch of other fun ways to draw card with him in this deck design

have you thought about any of the heroic cards for some additional uses and versatility? akroan crusader is definitely a thing and can give you more bodies to pump with your spells.

December 4, 2013 5:56 p.m.

I have though about Akroan Crusader , but Blistercoil Weird does seem to outplay him, because it doesn't need to be targeted. I'm planning on trying the crusader eventually though.

I really like the concept of this deck, however I do believe there is one major oversight. Nivmagus Elemental ability says "(that spell won't resolve)". So in a nutshell that means you cannot use the Hidden Strings to untap your land before you exile it to Nivmagus Elemental because the spell never resolves.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Cheers

December 4, 2013 7:57 p.m.

No that's absolutely true. It becomes the player's decision whether or not it would be better to just "eat" the cipher copy or untap the lands. Say if you have two instants in your hand, it may be better to untap the lands, and play and then "eat" both the spells, getting you +2/+2 more than if you just at the ciphered copy. However, the spells are still cast, so they do trigger Blistercoil Weird and Nivix Cyclops .

I really like this deck. I have a friend who runs something similar and have been contemplating how to run it since I pulled a Nivmagus Elemental the other day. +1 for brilliant ideas.

RAWWWB The initial casting of Hidden Strings would resolve and then become ciphered onto Nivmagus Elemental . When you attack you can eat the cipher copy of it that turn or use it, whichever is most convenient.

Hhahahaa, this is crazy fast. My only suggestion would be Rapid Hybridization to the sideboard for removal on things like Tidebinder Mage if they hit Nivmagus Elemental

December 4, 2013 11:18 p.m.

Have you considered running Frostburn Weird in the sideboard for other fast decks such as RDW?
