I think Dragon Mantle would be a good fit over the ordeal. You seem like you need a bit of card draw, and the pump effect combined with double strike if they don't declare a blocker would be devastating.

I think Fencing Ace , Young Pyromancer , and Fabled Hero deserve slots here.

Fencing Ace + Madcap Skills = Pain.

CW-Turn 1 is when I like to play my one creature, which is why I deliberately avoided those cards, though they are excellent and I run them in other decks. Also, with the tons of things that give double strike in this deck, double strike creatures aren't very necessary, and when I give a creature double strike, its a lot more surprising, versus them expecting 8 damage turn 3.

The thing is that you need to be able to stabilize after your first creatures been Doom Blade d.

You don't wanna sit there while your opponent is tossing out a pacman each turn having only Gods Willing , Boros Charm , Armed / Dangerous , Madcap Skills and no creatures on deck to pump, and with only 14 creatures on board I know that theres a huge chance that will happen.

I would say at least 20 creatures is your best bet at this deck being able to fire continuously.

I see where your coming from. In my meta I have not had huge problems, but I think having more creatures in the SB will help in case I face a death with destruction. And I'm going to remove the budget tag and throw in Stormbreath Dragon SB for control decks.

This reminds me a lot of my Jund Blitz deck. Could you take a look at it and see what I can sub in because this is very well done. http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/eh-its-only-a-11-its-not-like-holy-crap-i-lost/

Get in Fabled Hero , he's absolutely ruthless.

Throne of Geth is a great card with Heroic's.

January 18, 2014 5:50 p.m.

Fabled Hero is too high of a drop for this deck, and Throne of Geth isn't standard.

Has this deck been tested at an FNM? Just wondering, this almost seems a bit unfair... I like it. I wanna try it!

Nice deck. A friend of mine just built a similar deck but runs Firedrinker Satyr Dryad Militant Soldier of the Pantheon and Favored Hoplite . Oh and ajani. I run a similar type of budget aggro deck in gruul colors. Gladecover combat tricks (t3 killer)

Berserk could be good

Prehstun- Since I pretty much only run budget decks, this is a home-brew that I have yet to try out. But I have play tested it with proxy cards at my card shop and I do win a fair majority of the games I play, because not many people expect consistent turn 3 kills. Sometimes my 18 lands and only 4 duel lands can be inconsistent, but I highly emphasize the turn 1 creature, which is why I eschewed (deliberately avoided) Temple of Triumph , but it may be something to consider of consistency is a huge factor. I've long been considering to lose to Ordeal of Purphoros in favor of more land.

This deck has amazingly pauper bones. The brewing is starting in my head now. :)

I liked what you did here. I worked in something with the same concept (pump+double strike).

But I'm afraid that you have a low creatures count....only 14....and all the other 26 spells you have need a target creature. Most of the time you will be looking for a creature to cast.

I made a deck with 20 creatures, 20 spells and 20 lands, a 33,3% for wich, to get what I need in my opening hand and every draw step without losing steam.

In your case and in which consists your mana curve, I suggest something like 18 lands,20 creatures and 22 spells.

Hope this can help you. have fun!

This is my deck if you want to check it out Double Strike Blitz!.

hey what about Akroan Crusader seems like a good fit in this deck. I'm posting a new deck I made that's mono-red but fast too. though i think yours is faster.

Fog deck faltered for one turn and I got punched for 48 damage by one soldier of the pantheon... after it already hit for 16. Dragged the game on to turn 6 though!

What about Fabled Hero ?

January 25, 2014 9:11 p.m.

I want all my creatures to be one drops, and I intentionally didn't include things naturally with double strike so I could give a creature double strike as a surprise.

Akroan Crusader ? one drop, gets you more dudes that have haste? what's not to like?

How about Dryad Militant instead of Rakdos Cackler and replacing Gods Willing with Brave the Elements ?

January 26, 2014 7:36 p.m.

UnknownPhate says... #24

@Jamezhanith

Gods Willing is a heroic trigger, and usually you have 1, maybe 2 creatures out, not really needed to be changed.

Rakdos Cackler adds red to ensure a fairer curve, especially without shocklands

Nyxborn Shieldmate will be a nice addition. maybe replace the cacklers?
