I wanted to build a fun to play beater deck with the most high value above curve creatures I could find in pauper, this is the version I have on paper.
The plan is quite simple: Play above curve-creatures, protect them and pump them to outgrow the opponent. It's light on interaction, but of course 4x Lightning Bolt is in there to remove blockers and burn.
Main beaters are 4x Wild Nacatl, 4x Kird Ape, and then 4x Seeker of the Way for growing huge with prowess triggers mid-game and gaining a ton of life. 22 cards in this deck as of now triggers prowess.
Honored guests are the 4x Burning-Tree Emissary to easily populate the board and filter mana, and 4x Kor Skyfisher because it's above curve and can fly over. The skyfisher's bounce effect is almost only upside because there are lots of good things to bounce, and the worst case scenario of having to bounce a land is of no big issue since all the spells are extremely cheap to cast anyways.
Protection and pump: 4x Apostle's Blessing which can be payed for and 2 life, it seems perfect in a three colour beat down deck, and can even protect from artifacts! 3x Vines of Vastwood, which is not as versatile and easy to cast Apostle's Blessing, but is perfect for a finisher with the kicker-cost. Mutagenic Growth can also function as protection sometimes and pump for zero mana, but I only have one copy at the moment. 4x Rancor because it's great in it self, but will also trigger prowess and is a legal target for bouncing with the Kor Skyfisher while not being too hard too recast.
Utility: 4x Evolving Wilds to find basic lands for fixing and growing my Wild Nacatl and Kird Ape. 2x Nylea's Presence for the same reason while also being self-replacing, decided for two because more seemed reduntant. 4x Abundant Growth for even more self-replacing mana fixing for just . Both Nylea's and Abundant are perfect targets for bouncing with Kor Skyfisher, the refilling of cards is extremely important to not run out of gas mid-game.
I'm still waiting for some of the card's so I haven't been able to playtest IRL, but I've playtested on this website and it seems extremely fun to play. The plan is simple and powerful and the creatures do a lot of work on their own, but the deck still seems to require lot's of strategy, deck knowledge, and good decisions to really lift off.
Update #1: I just ordered some Violent Outburst because damn. Best case scenario it increases power while also triggering prowess twice on Seeker of the Way. Worst case scenario it can be used as a way to dig for a protection spell, EVEN IF it is countered because Cascade still goes on the stack. If I cascade into Vines of Vastwood I'd also be allowed to pay the kicker cost. It's a gamble and cold potentially do exactly nothing, but it's still very interesting.
