What will you do when the Stake rotates out though?

This deck doesn't seem to have much of a place once Stake is gone. Hoping Theros brings in something fun.

Massive Raid could replace Burn at the Stake . Its not as good, but it is lower mana and will still be in standard after rotation. Or maybe some sacking for damage card like Barrage of Expendables . Once again not as good though. We will have to see what the next block gives us to work with. cool deck though.

I won my first three games at my FNM with this deck (slightly edited, I dont have any Hellrider ) but then I had to leave. Overall a really fun time.

I ran this list last night. Threw it together an hour before FNM started. Play tested it against a buddy running Gruul Aggro and crushed him 6-0. He ended up changing his mind and ran a different deck for the tournament. It turned out to be a busy night so the tournament would have 5 rounds tonight. When the tournament started I won my first 3 matches fairly easily. I ended up losing the 4th to American Control fairly convincingly. Won the 5th without a struggle. What I've concluded from this is that this deck wrecks aggro due to so much early removal. It's simple to run your opponent out of cards, get some dudes and burn them out or attack FTW. The sideboard IMO needs to be geared heavily towards fighting off control decks. If you're trying to keep the deck budget, I would consider at least a playset of Skullcrack and if you can afford to splash out on cards, Boros Reckoner and Blasphemous Act would be a good combo vs control. Bant Hexproof might also be an issue. Perhaps Ratchet Bomb or Mizzium Mortars would be a good inclusion to combat this. Overall, I couldn't give this list higher praise. It might be the next big aggro thing until rotation, but it definitely needs some help vs control.

Seems like fun! I'm not sure that I like the Chandra's Phoenix though.

I like it, but Hellrider isn't very synergistic. I'd take it out for more Brimstone Volleys.

I would use guttersnipe for that extra aggro, but i really need a bit of flying, I'm thinkin I'll sideboard it though.

Took a very similar version of this to a 40 person FNM last week and went 4-1-1 earning 4th place. There's a lot of pleasure in pounding face with red weenies. All I'd suggest is Dynacharge which can make an attack with a lot of tokens turn real fatal, real fast.

I played against this with my Modern Ramp deck (Run, Fat Boy, Run!) and let me tell you, it was awfully close, although I just beat you 2-1 in the end. I like this deck a lot. +1
