Most of the time I'm up against control I outspeed them. But when I'm up against a fast control deck, there are some problems. I have Mindsparker sideboarded for that, and usually I'm still faster than them.

Sleeved it up, so far the deck is basically invincible against aggro, but pretty dead against jund and control

I'm running a similar deck, you should consider trying Boros Reckoner and Blasphemous Act as an alternate win condition/board wipe. Ogre Battledriver is a consideration as well, though less directly damaging than Hellrider it can lay down the beats.

I really like this deck so I'm going to be running this list again tomorrow, but I think I will lose the Guttersnipe for a Chandra's Phoenix and a Brimstone Volley . Regardless, The main point I want to make in this post is that I will be running a completely revised sideboard which specifically targets the decks our pile is weak against; those being Sphinx's Revelation Control decks and midrange decks which have a lot of X/4 creatures (which often means chumping or 2-for-1ing yourself to kill it). For the Control match-up I am thinking about a SB brew including 4 Skullcrack , 3 Burning Earth , and 4 Reverberate . Skullcrack is basically to counter life gain from Sphinx's Revelation . It also has a fun interaction with Reverberate where you can Skullcrack first, then play Reverberate on the stack above it targeting Sphinx's Revelation which will mean that you will both draw X cards, but your opponent loses 3 life and you gain X life. Reverberate would also work well against counterspells, or it can copy some of your own burn like Brimstone Volley to hit for 10 with 5 mana. Burning Earth would also come in to punish the 3 color decks which include Control as well as Jund or Naya. Lastly I would play 4 Mizzium Mortars to deal with the beforementioned X/4 creatures (like Loxodon Smiter or Olivia Voldaren and as an extra late game one sided sweeper if needed. Sorry for being so longwinded. Thoughts?

Sorry, Olivia Voldaren is only a 3/3 (although it can become a 4/4 or above fairly quickly). Restoration Angel would be another example of a troublesome X/4 though...

This is a great deck. I've been working (unsuccessfully) on refining a U/R deck with a similar concept. It probably hasn't helped that my first playtest was against an Esper Netdeck, lol. I think you've inspired me enough to seriously consider re-vamping it to mono-red.

Holy Cow. Runechanter's Pike in this deck... I have to get some and try it. so good against midrange, especially trample creatures which is one of the weak points of the deck.

4 of guttersnipe, or get rid of them. I honestly think you should get rid of them and add faithless looting in order to discard your pheonixs and hand fix

This is kind of sweet, I'm thinking of an revised version to take to FNM today and maybe to an SCG Open tomorrow (maybe it'll get me on camera lol), seems pegged to get a lot of people by surprise and I think the metagame is very unprepared for Burn at the Stake , I personally couldn't really think of any mono-red sideboard options to make the deck better vs the current Standard metagame after game one however, in my playtesting I found that in general the U/W/R control matchup can go either way, but most of the high impact decision making is on the control player which I like, however in the Naya matchup (mostly the Midrange Naya but the smaller creature package Naya is also a swingy matchup) and especially in the Jund matchup they generally just have better creatures, which put me in the situation of being more of the control player which isn't where I wanted to be. I still liked the idea and playstyle, so I'm trying a more token emphasis version with some White and possibly Green cards in the mix that lets me throw more creatures at their bigger threats, clog the board, hopefully eat some of Jund's removal and some combat tricks to help make unprofitable trades. I don't have the deck finalized but it is making use of Assemble the Legion and Boros Charm as well as some other cards if it ends up doing well, I'll be back with the results.

I have been working on a red pyro burn deck. I can say with certainty, that I'll be adding a Young Pyromancer ASAP! Great build!

Mortician Beetle do you think 2 Dynacharge could replace Brimstone Volley ? In this case you would want to be overloading Dynacharge due to all the tokens available. The CMC for Brimstone Volley and overloaded Dynacharge are the same.

Massive Raid works in place of burn at the stake... temporarily right?

kinda, but Burn at the Stake does help a lot more.

Make sure you have something in the sideboard to anticipate your opponent's side-in of Witchbane Orb . It's a relatively popular sideboard card that really hurts your deck if they can stall combats effectively.

...Fog . Lol do you just cry and scoop? Like someone before me I have to recommend Skullcrack

The Major win con in this deck is Burn at the Stake ehich isn't combat damage, but i do believe a Skullcrack could work. I'll think about it.

or control in general
