My Red aggro has trouble with American Tempo and Control as well. A playset of Cavern of souls Side board and a couple wild ricechet and maybe 2 ratchet bombs will cure the problem also you can main mutivault which is useful against everything and control then side em out for game two for cavern of souls against control. This tactic almost always suceeds and beats you worst 2 match ups. Azorious charm is usually the culpret when you lose due to continuously puting a 2 drop back ontop of your deck over and over not allowing you to gain mana while it starts drawing cards so when they try it its best to kill your own creature and continue to draw cards. Then you set up wild ricachet for a big double gain double card draw for yourself off sphinx Rev and beat their ass.

RedCloud2012 Sphinx's Revelation does not target, so you can copy it but they retain control over the first casting of it. But great way to gain some life and refill your hand for fairly cheap.

Well I ran Reverberate before and I havent run Wild ricochet yet but yea thats ok it will still be just as good as reverberate was and better for auriela's helix and stuff like that played in those decks. I used to side in skullcrack/reverberate and play the 2 together for 4 mana.

Decks like this make me miss Dungrove Elder the ultimate mono green solution to red.

Im running a somewhat similar list, but due to the many counter spells people play lately i can't be arsed to rely solely on stakes. So i basicly just dropped it from the list and replaced it with Dynacharge . That lead to focussing more on the instant / suprise part more which meant i dropped the Phoenix' and went with 4 Guttersnipe . Basicly im swinging with 1/1 tokens pumping em up with dyna's while getting rid of the defence with burns and let the gutter deal the damage. (all this happening after defenders are declared makes your hand a giant pool of options)
I got owned (really really really really really owned) by a ratchet bomb which got played and sacced instantly to get rid of my 12 tokens pretty brutally. Annoyingly quite a few people had that one sideboarded. Aside from that my matches are quite even.
Im actually leaning towards splashing some blue to 1) keep Guttersnipe & Young Pyromancer alive and 2) get me some cards. I basicly loose half my games against any stomping grounds decks as soon as i run out of fuel (cards) and i win only half against uwr decks if im hitting the 2nd Dynacharge before the uwr has enough mana to really start slowing me down. Also, i don't see how Hellrider gets a place here if you're not using any Dynacharge or Weapon Surge to buff the tokens.
Also, a card that might deserve a mention here is Blistercoil Weird as well as Empty the Warrens which both use the cheap burn spells to their advantage.
As a final question, has anyone tried splashing a Melek, Izzet Paragon with a few all the cheap instants we're using? Might solve quite a few problems against uwr lategame.

hetwiel the idea of Hellrider is that it says "when a creature you control attacks" so you have all these tokens and hellrider (so lets lets say 9 tokens and a hellrider making 10 creatures total). when you DECLARE the attack with all 10 creatures the 10 damage is dealt, then the combat phase goes and blockers are assigned. So for Hellrider it doesn't matter how strong the creatures are as long as they declare an attack. Hope that helps. As for Empty the Warrens that is not standard legal.

I was thinking maybe instead of the Brimstone Volley you could replace it with Blasphemous Act and remove the Hellrider and Guttersnipe for 4 Boros Reckoner

KONFUSION well my point is that 9 tokens proven to be quite hard to get without dying (unless you plan to keep young pyromancer alive for 2 turns which is rather impossible. And even if you do get to swing with Hellrider and 9 tokens, you dealt 10 damage plus a possible 13 from the actual swing. Im fairly convinced 9 tokens do 27 damage if they all get +2/+0 from a Dynacharge not to mention the defender most likely will actually loose stuff blocking tokens so can't swing back full strength.
I'm not saying they all get thru, im just fairly certain tokens+dynacharge has a bigger impact as a 1-turn trick then tokens+hellrider.would considering the tokens and especially the hellrider die once you swing. (if not sooner)
Blasphemous Act and Boros Reckoner is quite a popular combo, I'm loving that too :D Hasnt it allready been mentioned in this post btw?
Either way, loving the deck!

hetwiel I totally agree with Dynacharge if you look up in previeous comments before yours I already mentioned it :P

Either Dynacharge or Weapon Surge would be good the second is useful for its defensive purposes if that ever becomes needed. I'm currently trying to figure out which one is more useful in my mono-red deck. XD

If you have 4x rootbound and 2x stomping ground you could try Parallel Lives that would double your output and in a match up where everything just got wipe you could bounce back to your prepared to burn at the stake state 2x as fast and even maybe drop a phoenix and 2x guttersnipe for burning-tree emissary because the could possibly all chain like this...burning tree-burning tree-burning tree-krenkos command...so possible 5 creatures turn 2 and they can cast spear too also making hellrider way better. I believe im gonna go off my Idea and do this.

May I? Check this one *Azithromycin, similar concept (well, kinda) a lot of cheap cards and works wonders... maybe you can get something out of it, turn your deck into Modern and adapt it. Cheers

@MorticianBeetle I'd delete that comment if I were you, this is your deck so you should be able fairly easily.
Nice deck, I like how budget it can be. It might get me back in Standard the time it's legal.

Isn't there a huge red remove button right next to each comment. Or is it only for upgraded account?

You should credit this to Travis Woo, considering he brewed this deck and not you.
