I feel as though you don't necessarily need 4 Hero of Iroas because you are only really running 6 cards that it helps (Eidolon of Countless Battles and Spear of Heliod ). Also, in my experience, Launch the Fleet is one of the best heroic triggers yet. I would run all four Gods Willing (or Ajani's Presence ) or a combination thereof, as once you start building up a heroic dude, they will do everything they can to take him down. Stopping that will ruin their tempo and activate heroic, which is awesome. My heroic deck Akroan Heroics runs similarly to yours, kind of, and it's a ton of fun to play. BTW Eidolon of Countless Battles totally dominates w/ Akroan Crusader , he's so underestimated.

Elspeth, Sun's Champion is soooooo out of place in this deck. 20-land decks can't be running 6 drops and expect to play them. If you plan on keeping this at 20 lands, you're highest drop needs to be 3. Also, Hero of Iroas is 100x better than Phalanx Leader . I do however think in this deck you should run both. Akroan Skyguard is quite subpar. I'd lose the Archetype of Aggression since its out of place. If you really want to run a god, I'd go 2x Iroas, God of Victory , but nothing else (you'd then have to go some lands). As far as enchantments: Chained to the Rocks , Ethereal Armor Madcap Skills , Nyxborn Shieldmate , and possibly Hopeful Eidolon . Use creatures that can spawn tokens (Brimaz, King of Oreskos and Precinct Captain , Akroan Crusader ), and Phalanx Leader to buff them up. Enchantments are the best way to do this, but having some instants would be good to.

dont get your sb... Evangel of heliod sucked in all games i played. revoke existence? deicide! Searing blood cost 2 red, u cant use it though on turn 2! Why fated retribuion?

i dont get how this has a score of 7.. it wouldnt even top 8 a FNM.. it just seems so random.

unfortunatley blakxjokerx is partly right. I just tested my deck deck against yours and it kinda curb stomped it in the face. I think that may have been because you got bad pulls however. I think im gonna put a few more games together and see how it ends up. Let you know.

Rhinowarrior im not sure i understand your comment. Anyway, the deck could be pretty tight (very flavorful regardless) if you maybe focused it a bit more. I mean so many 2 ofs. Eh, who am i to say anything though.

EzraTerrestrial i understand completely. plus, it can be very hard to make a good themed deck in standard. Hopefully you figure something out here. Maybe more Hero of Iroas and more auras? i dont know.

I think that you have a lot of good cards in their but a lot of them are focusing on different strategies. You have enchantments, heroic, and you have purphoros, but you also have weenies. Which one is your main?

I was thinking maybe remove the two Cavalry Pegasus and two Messenger's Speed and then add one more Phalanx Leader , one more Hero of Iroas , and two Nyxborn Shieldmate .

With Launch the Fleet targeting a Phalanx Leader , the Launch the Fleet has to resolve, therefore I get all those tokens; then the heroic triggers which makes them all 2/2s. So that's a nice combo and I think warrants a need to have possibly four Phalanx Leader .

Then with Nyxborn Shieldmate , we add an enchantment to trigger heroics and fuel Eidolon of Countless Battles and be cast for cheap with the three Hero of Iroas in the deck.

What do you guys think?

sorry man but your confused on the phalanx leader/ launch the fleet interaction

first, launch the fleet is a sorcery so you can only cast it during one of your mainphases

second you have to attack to get the tokens

so the order is actually cast Launch which targets Leader triggering heroic, launch resolves, go into Combat stage, you attack get token.

love nyxborn shieldmate, also like Gift of Orzhova

and NobleRooster up there is wrong about Hero of Iroas having any effect on Spear of Heliod's cost. Read the cards again.

oh and you may want to consider Ethereal Armor

You're right, blakxjokerx, I was thinking it was instant speed for some odd reason. Yeah, Hero of Iroas only effects aura enchantments, but being able to bestow for cheaper and trigger those heroics on little mana is still good flow with the deck. Maybe I just need to make room for more Nyxborn Shieldmate .

What so you guys think I should do with Purphoros, God of the Forge ? I don't really need to turn it on, because it's ability with a well placed Launch the Fleet could do some serious damage. Heliod, God of the Sun might be better because I could activate it with devotion and the vigilance would help protect me when I am swinging all out with Iroas, God of Victory in play. Though his mana ability is costly, it might help if I'm top-decking and have mana to spare.

On that note, although his first ability still doesn't help that much, he's a beast. I put him into my own heroic deck, and boy, a turn two 2/2 gets huge quickly. Play him.

Did you consider a Prophetic Flamespeaker or two? Seems crazy good when you curve him into a 4 drop like Iroas (or just essentially draw 2 w 4 mana, or pump for a billion)

I would suggest Champion of the Parish since most of your creatures are Humans.

PhoenixElite this is a Standard deck, Champion of the Parish is not. I recommend either upping Nyxborn Shieldmate and Eidolon of Countless Battles (or adding more auras in general), or taking out Hero of Iroas , since you only have 6 auras in the deck.
