Guile , Elite Arcanist ,Hinder ,Mental Misstep (I run it in my deck just for Sol Ring /Sensei's Divining Top ) there are lots more I could suggest but I'd rather just have you look at my build to get more ideas and get your ideas for it (plus a +1 would be appreciated) any way here it is Talrand, sky-army summoner and +1 for a fellow "towely" deck

Oh is this a "French dual" deck? If not Sol Ring and Strip Mine

Kozelek, it is a French list. Thanks for the +1, I returned the favor. What suggestions would you make for replacing to get the stuff you suggested in there?

Ok you need a Mystic Speculation

I don't think that I do. Yeah, Scry 3 is awesome but it's sorcery speed and having no option of doing it on the opponents turn makes it way less useful than something like Brainstorm . I did this on YOUR turn and still have ALL my lands available.

But it's repeatable you can do it every turn (once your mana is going on) and you can put 1, 2 or all 3 cards on bottom of your library (extremely helpful when you hit a mana clump/are mana screwed and need to "burn" through the top of your library to find ether mana or the end of the mana clump) don't get me wrong Brainstorm is one of the best cards for this deck and I love it but trust me when I say that Mystic Speculation will get you out of more jams when your deck is screwing you over

Just play test it a bit and see what it does for you as a deck manipulator (better than Sensei's Divining Top for this deck anyway) plus the buyback means you get more drakes off on card and more drakes is always a good thing

I am definitely going to test it out. Not sure how/why I missed the fact that it had buyback, silly me. I appreciate your extended explanation.

Hey! I have a decklist that you may find some things you like. It's mostly cantrip shenanigans with a couple of counterspells thrown in, but why not. MagicalHacker - Talrand, Sky Summoner.

I noticed you have some buyback spells in your list, how about some of the replicate spells from the original Ravnica set? You could sink six mana into a spell like Gigadrowse , tap six of your opponent's permanents and summon six drakes.

Unfortunately, replicate doesn't trigger Talrand's ability, since it doesn't actually "cast" the spells, it merely copies them.

Polymorph or Jalira, Master Polymorphist would let you sac a drake token to get one of your creatures.. also it could get you cheap eldrazi or Darksteel Colossus or Blightsteel Colossus .

Aelorith2117 says... #22

also what about something like Soothsaying , Darksteel Pendant or Sensei's Divining Top ?

Mystic Speculation is better

I have been running Mystic Speculation , and have found it to work quite well. It triggers Talrand, Sky Summoner and the scrying has been very useful.

Aelorith, thanks for the suggestions. I am going to find a place to fit Polymorph in here. The thought of being able to use it on a drake token which is instantly replaced and getting Tidespout Tyrant in play after an EOT Long-Term Plans seems quite good.

Once you get all your creatures out from your deck, Proteus Staff also lets you stack your deck legally.
