ooooo... Vengeful Pharaoh is a must! I'm going to be rocking that card. Thanks for the comments and +1s!

@ ublabaah: That isn't true at all. I won probably 80% of my games with Quicksilver Amulet . Turn 5 Sheoldred, Whispering One is hard to deal with. Mindshrieker is certainly the main theme but Quicksilver Amulet and Djinn of Wishes are much more consistent win conditions.

I'm not fond of the Sheoldred, Whispering One in this deck. I think the slots could be better used with what is listed in the maybeboard card:Apostle's Blessing or 2 more Djinn of Wishes maybe consider adding in Mitotic Manipulation or some Forbidden Alchemy to get through your deck faster and get fodder for Noxious Revival of your choice. Maybe some Twisted image 2 or Gitaxian Probe or Merfolk Looter or Think Twice . Just some ideas. Enjoy. :)

I love this deck idea so much I made my own. I've playtested it, this is what I came up with. http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/this-is-how-you-mindshrieker-turtle-tuned/
seems to be humming along.

@commandermack Ok, Sheoldred, Whispering One is one of the best cards in the deck and one of the reasons the deck wins games. You have to realize, Mindshrieker is only for early game (or if people don't understand how good it is and don't try to kill it) and Quicksilver Amulet is for min / late game. I have won many, many games off of dropping Sheoldred, Whispering One and then getting another chancellor every single turn. I know it can only be played from the amulet but that honestly isn't hard to do. I really should rename this deck 'This is how you Quicksilver' but oh well. My sideboard will eventually be things that I will put in to focus my deck on pure Mindshrieker or pure Quicksilver Amulet depending on what my opponent has the most trouble handling. Cards like card:Apostle's Blessing and Cackling Counterpart will go in for matchups that Mindshrieker will win. Land and cards like Forbidden Alchemy and Skaab Ruinator will go in when Quicksilver Amulet is my primary win condition. I hope that makes sense. Thanks for the comment! I love the ideas this deck has generated. Keep it coming!

Skaab Ruinator might not be a bad to maindeck. Sure you might get an underwhelming shriek, but, you're going to be putting a lot of critters in your graveyard and a 5/6 for 3 ain't bad. Also, this deck is built almost perfectly to afford to hard-cast it. The only real improvement to casting it reliably would be to include Forbidden Alchemy , but I can't see a lot of room to stick it in except in the sideboard.

@ TikiShades Preordain is no longer standard. It make me sad too....

Like it. It's fun, although seems very risky!
I think 4xTurn Aside would be great, because your opponent is going to have some Go for the Throat sort of card for sure :(
+1 for the creativity!

@ CAO I playtested a bit with Turn Aside and card:Apostle's Blessing and they were very aggravating. As I have been saying (seemingly to every single comment) this deck is not 100% based on Mindshrieker !!!!!!! The plan is this, get a good turn 1 with chancellors. Hopefully throw down a Mindshrieker and get 1 good hit off with it. Use Quicksilver Amulet to drop huge stuff down and finish off my wounded opponent. If Mindshrieker dies I do not sob and weep for days upon end. I simply go to Quicksilver Amulet or Djinn of Wishes or I cast Noxious Revival to bring back Mindshrieker . Forcing my creatures to live is not necessary and cards like Turn Aside and card:Apostle's Blessing just don't fit in the deck. What is the point of running more 1 and 2 cost cards to save Mindshrieker 's life if he won't even be able to pull huge creatures off the top? The chance of pulling one of those cheap spells off the top of my deck is just way too high when I run 8 (or even just 4) spells to keep him alive.

playtesting made me worried about aggro decks however pulling all 4 chancleres opening hand makes me smile
October 25, 2011 8:10 a.m.
@blazzingz Ya, aggro usually beats it hard. The best defense is to simply get lucky and use Chancellor of the Dross and Chancellor of the Annex to slow down aggro enough to get going. I've playtested this deck many, many times against my tournament deck Innistrad White Humans FTW and white weenies destroys it if I don't get lucky. Against other aggro decks though, it tends to do very well.

I think I'm gonna +1 this just for hilarity value. Opening hand having three chancellors was fairly hilarious.
October 25, 2011 2:56 p.m.
The best opening hand I had once was 2 Chancellor of the Annex , 2 Chancellor of the Dross , and 1 Chancellor of the Tangle which made for a turn 1 Mindshrieker . Doesn't get much better than that.
October 25, 2011 7:35 p.m.
Um wow, that's pretty nutty, What held my +1 was the fact you are only running 20 land, that can be painful even with the chance of revealing Chancellor of the Tangle .
Other than that it's pretty good and RNG heavy. (RNG = Random Number Generator) the whole role on magic.

What about if you only have one mindshrieker out and someone has a creature with deathtouch. There isn't anything you can do and then all you have is big creatures in your hand. Seems good in theory. But in actuality it really isn't that good.
October 25, 2011 9:32 p.m.
@Theename - There's a hypothetical situation to discredit every deck out there. You could think up some 'what if this was on the board' question for any deck. Also Mindshrieker has flying. I can't even think of something that has flying and deathtouch right now.

Vampire night hawk. I see what you're saying. But I like decks with answers to just about everything you can think of under the sun.
