Actually just noticed no Blood Moon. Another price issue?

July 31, 2017 9:53 a.m.

No there's no Blood Moon because I didn't think I'd need it, it's been in my sideboard of cards to add for a while. There's really no price issues for me if you take a look at my other decks Wincon Warp World and Enchantress Oops! All Permanents. I just don't like spending $20 on standard cards.

Is this deck mainly meant for 1v1 play?

August 3, 2017 9:18 a.m.

Not at all Antwaan33. I don't build competitive 1v1 decks. Neheb's explosive power lies in having more opponents, not fewer, because you get more mana the more opponents you can hit with stuff like Sizzle.

Ok I was just asking cause I think your version is interesting and wanted to build it :)

I appreciate that, thank you! I hope it works well for you.

Does it do good in pod play?

August 3, 2017 10:21 a.m.

Well it's 12 for 16 in multiplayer games of 3-5 people so far so I'd say it's about as good as a deck can be without being degenerate.

Have you thought of running Flame Rift,Heartless Hidetsugu and Fall of the Titans?

August 3, 2017 9:19 p.m.

Yup! I have considered all possible cards for this deck and decided on the ones I'm currently running. I just took Hidetsugu out because I don't need him and I want fewer creatures. Also, him needing haste makes him undesirable to cast unless I can immediately use him. I've explained why there's no Fall of the Titans, and I have plenty of similar cards to Flame Rift already that are beautiful foils.

Hey, man! I absolutely love this list. I see you had the original intent I did, going creatureless, but fell into the trap I did, finding too many creatures with nice synergy to continue that original plan.

I feel I understand this combo, but want to be sure I am not making any assumptions along the way.

  • Combo in QuestionI do not use Furnace of Rath anymore, substituting out for Dictate of the Twin Gods. The doubling of damage is being handled by Furnace of Rath, and the two moments where damage is reflected is per Satyr Firedancer and Repercussion, right?
  • August 7, 2017 3:34 p.m.

My original plan wasn't actually to be creatureless as there were some I always wanted to play like Prophetic Flamespeaker and Coalhauler Swine among others. There's still only 50% or less of the creatures in a typical EDH deck so I'm happy with the result.

Yeah most people would probably rather play Dictate of Furnace for the damage doubling but I like the OG and the extra devotion. Feels really red. Also, since I'm trying to burn everyone up, a furnace seems appropriate. But yeah it sounds like you got the combos down. I think I explained it in the description too right? If you love the list, I'd appreciate your upvote to keep getting Neheb more visibility on the site! Thanks for commenting.

Also got a bunch of the cards for the deck, its half way to being done.

    August 7, 2017 4:02 p.m.

Antwaan33 I'd rather turn my mana into an extra card draw each turn. I'm not trying to get in for Commander damage in this deck and I couldn't care less about Neheb being blocked usually due to his Afflict ability. Or just because attacking isn't very important all the time anyways.

This build is pretty crazy. Could you possibly critique my deck Eternal Burn???

    August 18, 2017 12:52 a.m.

Crazy in a good way hopefully? If you like it I'd appreciate an upvote. I'll take a look.

This is essentially the deck I wanted to make if I ever decided to build him, I have a Neheb, the Worthy deck, and I wanted to keep him in there instead. Excellent deck man, have an upvote!

Did you ever consider Magmasaur as a good damage and mana source?

    September 6, 2017 4:59 p.m.

Lutachris23 no I hadn't considered that card. Honestly, it's not what I'm looking for for this deck: it's a creature (which I want as few of as possible), it has to sit around for a turn before it does anything, and the art is pretty...bad, to be kind. There are any number of better cards that I would slot in to deal damage to opponents before I would play something like this. If I was going to put another creature in I would add Heartless Hidetsugu back in.

Yeah, I realize you must have put a lot of thought into the deck too. Also, could you explain your reasoning behind Explorer's Scope over something like Expedition Map, that way you could tutor for your Nykthos or Valakut?
