you might wanna try Cutthroat Maneuver it could come in handy. you might even wanna try Tormented Hero too. some more removal might come in handy in the side board if you're up against a huge creature spamming deck. also, if you have the money for it, i'd swap out Duress for Thoughtseize , as well as the guildgates for Watery Grave or Temple of Deceit I really like the deck :) seems fun :) +1!!!!

after playtesting it, you might even wanna lower the land base to maybe 22 lands, rather than 24.

I'm trying to keep it pretty cheap, but I'll put in the Watery Grave anyways (Temple of Deciet is unnecessary because of the pacing of the deck). Also, I'm going to keep Cutthroat Maneuver out because of the casting cost, 4 mana is quite expensive compared to the other heroic triggers available. Finally, I might consider 22 lands, but I've always run decks with 24 just for the safety net it gives you, saves you from mulligan-ing a surprising amount of times.

Please bring down the land count. You now have 783 lands.

What are you trying to accomplish? Is this Dimir Heroic or something else?

December 24, 2013 4:59 p.m.

Lined says... #7

Mainly centers around dimir heroic abilities, however I noticed a lot of those decks lacked a viable win condition, so I've added in a bit more to make it more along the lines of control, using Agent of the Fates to clear the opponent's board until you can get out the AEtherling or copy one of his big creatures with Artisan of Forms .

I'd add some more removal, like Doom Blade or Hero's Downfall .

Thanks for the suggestions, I put in some Hero's Downfall to help deal with planeswalkers

you might even wanna try Prescient Chimera a third of your deck is instants and sorceries, and you could really use some flying to get past the opponents small blocking creatures big enough to kill your creatures, and you can never go wrong with scry :P it's all up to you, he is quite high to cast, you could put Deathgaze Cockatrice for the flying deathtouch... too bad Vampire Nighthawk isn't legal in standard :/

I'd put Ultimate Price in the side, maybe Lifebane Zombie , Pharika's Cure , and Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver and Jace, Memory Adept for control matches.

Also, Far / Away is absolutely amazing.

What do you think of putting in some Psychic Intrusion ?

I personally love Psychic Intrusion , but its a little slow to be competitive. I'm all for it, if it's just casual or FNM.

this looks like a great deck, but it is having a little bit on an identity crisis. There isn't really enough heroic/strong enough heroic to win you the game, but there also is not enough controling factors to be a control deck. the question is: which one do you think is better for you entertianment and your playgroup. I you find that adding mre heros from blue will aid the deck, I'd support that. I would cut some of the heroic, just keep the Artisan of Forms . make a copy of an opponet's creature, then put it to the top of their library with Griptide . to complete the combo, mill them with Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver and take the original too :) Also, you could consider mill with Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver . put in some dimir cards from return to ravnica like Dimir Charm and your all set to exile/mill the opponet to death, stealing thier milled cards with ashiok's ult.

Ashiok is a very weak mill card and doesn't synergize well with traditional dimir mill cards like consuming abberation, Wight of Precinct Six and Crypt Incursion . However, it's very powerful in control decks that can keep her alive for an extended period of time. I feel like the board control is pretty strong right now, with the Agent of the Fates and Far / Away for removal. I don't know any other dimir cards that have strong heroic abilities though, and I think this deck may need some dissolves. What do you think?

Also, for future reference, Time Ebb is a cheaper version of Griptide

i think Nightveil Specter could find a good home in this deck.

Have you considered Nightveil Specter to do a bit more stealing?

Yeah, I just don't know what to replace for it =/

Replace Psychic Intrusion with Nightveil Specter , that is what i would do, check my deck Deck Stealing 101

I would only have 1x AEtherling since realistically it's a 7 drop to protect it and bring in either 2x Psychic Intrusion or 2x Stolen Identity as this will steal and trigger both Artisan of Forms and Agent of Fates :)
