Thanks so much. Looks like I might have some tinkering to do.

From testing this deck, it feels like the deck can't lose once it gets the Thopter Sword combo in the late game. Because of this, I think the deck needs to focus on hitting its land drops every turn and stalling until you get the combo. Since the deck is trying to go to the late game, Spell Pierce falls flat very quickly. I would go -3 Spell Pierce, +1 Thopter Foundry, +1 land. I'm not sure what the last card would be, however.

Illuminaty_confirmed I took out the 3 Spell Pierce, put in the 4th Thopter Foundry, added the 21'st land;Mystic Gate, and filled the last open spot with another Thirst for Knowledge. I also removed the Detention Sphere and added in another Negate to put the control strategy at a solid 6 cards instead of 5. I've playtested some games tonight and have been rather effective. Just took storm 2-1, Elv's 2-1, and UW control 2-1. Although this isn't enough testing at the moment for any of that to mean anything; a string of good luck, so we'll see how it turns out. Thanks for the advice. I guess I just needed that extra little push to drop the Spell Pierces.

I'm admittedly more of an EDH player than a Modern player, so maybe I'm being obtuse, but I was immediately struck by the question: why don't you have Altar of the Brood in here? It would cement your wincon so that you don't have to actually swing your thopters to end the game.

ashunera Oh, my. Now that is a very cheap and interesting suggestion. Indeed, it would allow for an additional wincon. Although, it requires the Thopter Sword combo to be online already, which is rather effective 90% of the time. With that said, It's definitely making a spot in the sideboard. If I do end up running it in the main, it will be a 1 of. Thanks so much. That's actually a great suggestion.

nice deck I'm also toying with a Isochron Scepter deck but I've gone the infinite mana, damage and Lux Cannon rout. I deffinaty need to tweak mine some more but it's having consistent turn 4/5 wins atm so not all bad
