Have you ever considered True-Name Nemesis?

PacoBob: Not really? It doesn't do much for this deck - 3 damage per turn isn't particularly helpful. What do you think it adds here?

This deck could use more ramp, especially with the low amount of colored mana. Cards like Coldsteel Heart, Fellwar Stone, Sky Diamond, Darksteel Ingot, and Commander's Sphere will produce colored mana (Fellwar Stone depends on what people are playing, but most people play blue so it wont matter) and a Commander's Sphere can be sacrificed to draw a card late game, as well as Mind Stone.

Chart a Course has been an all-star in my Tetsuko Infect deck. Have you considered running it?

For the cuts you suggested: -Jace, Cunning Castaway for Deepfathom Skulker, I could see cutting Thing in the Ice  Flip for Temporal Manipulation, I like cutting Declaration of Naught a lot, even though it shuts a commander out of the game, probably for Sphinx. Thopter Spy Network seems lackluster to me, with your low count of artifact creatures. It should be the last cut imo.

Still really loving the deck, keep up the good work!

It was pulling teeth (pun intended since I just got my wisdom teeth removed), but here’s my suggestions:

I’m sure someone has suggested Coastal Piracy before, but it’s a good card I use in my Edric EDH, which looks somewhat similar to this!

I'm at a loss for what to suggest here. All I can think of is Blighted Agent if you wanted more infect.

Overall the deck seems very strong, and very tuned. +1

First, the responses to recent comments (thanks everyone!)

BelugaWhale217: I'll consider that! Honestly, though, I've never found a huge need for ramp here (the draw guarantees I hit almost all of my land drops, and the curve is low since a large proportion of the deck is responses (at 3 or less mana).

jakethewhale007: Ooh, I haven't tried that one here! Might be worth it!

IAmTheWraith: I'm not allowed to cut Jace, Cunning Castaway for reasons involving my girlfriend XD but he's definitely pulled his weight (he often gives 3 loot triggers per turn!). Remember that Thopter Spy Network makes its own artifact creatures, and it's also worked extremely well in my initial tests (I'm also adding a few other artifacts to work with). Thing in the Ice  Flip probably should get the axe, but I like that slimy boi so much...

Triton: Coastal Piracy is in there, don't worry! ;)

Darkshadow327: Thanks for your kind words!

really cool. I consider my Tetsuko deck to be more casual than my usual decks. I went with an infect theme. Yours appears to be a good all arounder. Well done!

Still an impressive piece of work I see.

Smuggler's Copter and Scroll Thief seem like they take up slots better served by more utility or control effects.

Next, what are your thoughts on the following (literally just your thoughts not saying you should make cuts for them):

AEtherize and Inundate as board wipes or Dissipation Field or Crawlspace as rattlesnake cards (for multiplayer mind you).

Hidden Strings , Last Thoughts , or Hands of Binding for control/utility purposes.

Sakashima's Student feels like a two mana clone effect in your build. (for that matter, Ninja of the Deep Hours should equally be treated as a two drop).

Teferi's Veil or Siren Stormtamer for creature protection.

Prying Blade as completely unnecessary ramp.

Military Intelligence or Verity Circle as card advantage.

Murmuring Mystic or Psychic Corrosion (note, the enchantment represents any milling here) as win cons.

and last but not least, Time Stop . Because nothing is more oppressive than hearing "beginning of your turn, end the turn."

Have you guys considered Thran Weaponry? Seems really good to pump all your unblockables for 2 every turn?

TheRedGoat: Honestly, Scroll Thief and Smuggler's Copter SEEM bad, but they consistently draw me into my lands and my control pieces. I'm never ever disappointed when I see them in my opener. Inundate isn't a bad idea XD but I'd rather just play Merchant Scroll / Spellseeker to grab Cyclonic Rift for example, in that slot. The other rattlesnakes are... okay? But I'd usually prefer outright control or counters in that slot (I don't like giving my opponents choices when I punish them). I tested Hidden Strings , Last Thoughts , and Hands of Binding , but they all got cut :( Last Thoughts is strictly worse than Scroll Thief in this list, and the other two were too low-impact overall. The issue with Sakashima's Student and Ninja of the Deep Hours is that they're only unblockable ONCE in this list (they have too large of a P/T to be unblockable here). Teferi's Veil and Siren Stormtamer might have a home here, avoiding removal? Honestly unsure, I've definitely considered both. Prying Blade ups my power, which I actively want to avoid XD Verity Circle might make it in here, it's been really REALLY good in The Locust God , though Rhystic Study would get that slot first. Murmuring Mystic could be cute I suppose (paired with Bident of Thassa ? wooooooo that seems hilarious). But Time Stop really isn't my jam in multiplayer: it makes me tap out and be unable to answer anything :( Thanks for the thoughts!

TJFNIJ: Oh, that's cute XD I like that, but it's 10 mana before I get the pump effect (assuming I want to pay echo), so I think I may have to skip it for now.

Any pointers on building a more budget version of this deck?

Digging the changes. Tezzeret the Seeker is amazing! One of my favorite planeswalkers in general. Have you tried Mu Yanling, Sky Dancer yet? I'm testing her and it's really not too hard to get to her emblem from what I've experienced. I'm also really liking Neurok Stealthsuit for it's ability to move to different targets at instant speed.

Looking forward to what the rebuild brings. Bummer man! Sorry to hear about your FoW being stolen.

Why not add deprive?

Deprive + Mystic Sanctuary

October 17, 2019 7:40 a.m.

Daedalus19876 says... #18

piccio000: I considered it? But while it's very amusing in 1v1, it kinda sets me back in multiplayer. Moreover, bouncing something that ISN'T Mystic Sanctuary feels real bad... I'd rather have a source of self-bounce that allows me to recur whatever I want (and sometimes connect for combat damage, too).

At least three cards to add here: Reconnaissance Mission and Sea-Dasher Octopus and Fierce Guardianship. Potentially I could try and find a slot for Decoy Gambit, Murmuring Mystic, Of One Mind, or Ominous Seas. There were a lot of good blue cards this set.
