What is this deck?

Well, this deck is a combo deck, based around getting infinite mana with enough mana rocks ( mana from them total), and a Dramatic Reversal imprinted onto an Isochron Scepter. This with Thrasios, Triton Hero allows this list to draw it's deck, while putting every land in it onto the battlefield. Our deck is built in such a way we can win from this point that turn.

The rest of the deck is build up of ramp, card draw, counterspells, diruption, and removal to get to that point, and stop our opponent's gameplan. Tymna the Weaver is the other commander for the deck, as it allows us to draw cards and gas to keep going at a low cost.

How do you win?

From the point at which we can draw infinite cards, we cast a Silence, to make sure we don't lose the game from our opponent's interaction, then we loop Gaea's Blessing and Regrowth so we can fill our deck with instants and sorceries, so we can cast Windfall. From this point, we loop our whole deck, and repeat the process, until each opponent has drawn their deck, and lost the game.

Card Selection

Card Draw/Card Advantage

Cantrips

  • Brainstorm - Is the best cantrip legal in commander, a better version of this list could abuse it with fetchlands.

  • Impulse - Impulse is one of those cards that is good enough to see play in a competitive deck, but is just slightly outclassed, and so doesn't see a ton of play, we are on a budget however, so this works very nicely.

  • Ponder - The last of our cantrips, powerful card, restricted in Vintage, the whole thing, really is useful to dig with.

Wheels

  • Ancient Excavation - Heavily underplayed card, both abilities are useful, with a budget landbase, colorless fixing is a nessecity, and the great card selection is very nice midgame on a dead turn.

  • Windfall - Budget Timetwister, with the added benefit of not shuffling, so we can use it to win the game instead of Laboratory Maniac, which was a card that was not in the budget.

Tutors

Draw Spells

  • Read the Bones - Digging 4 cards for 3 mana is nice, but the added benefit of putting an extra card in hand is what means we run it. Not worth keeping as you increase the budget.

  • Treasure Cruise - This is our Ancestral Recall, despite not being as powerful (obviously), it still works well as card advantage, just don't exile any of our combo pieces.

  • Mystic Remora - Great card. For 1 mana, it either slows our opponents turns down, or draws us a few cards. For 2 it can do more of the same, and get a removal spell.

  • Frantic Search - Not card advantage, and is technically card disadvantage, but is a very powerful free card nonetheless.

  • Notion Thief - A good hatebear, is incredible against a Brainstorm or Jace the Mindsculptor, and any looting effects, also Windfall should be mentioned here. Remember to Beast Within it before attempting to Windfall you opponents to death.

Recursion

  • Gaea's Blessing - Part of our combo, useful occasionally against specific mill combos.

  • Regrowth - Powerful card, basically Demonic Tutor for the yard, or Snapcaster Mage that doesn't exile, and can hit permanent cards, and can be done over multiple turns, minus the body.

Ramp

Mana Rocks

Mana Dorks

Rituals

  • Dark Ritual - Very powerful card, useful to ramp out some of our larger spell and can be done turn one to ramp out a couple rocks for a fast game.

  • Cabal Ritual - Similar but worse than Dark Ritual, can be better later on.

Diruption

Removal

Counterspells

  • Arcane Denial - A counterspell that hits anything for 2 mana and replaces itself.

  • Dispel - Hits many powerful spells, and does it for 1 mana.

  • Mental Misstep - 0 mana counterspells are always useful, but one that isn't card disadvantage (like Force of Will or Foil), one that is actually free and doesn't set you back in tempo (like Daze or Pact of Negation), and is very budget certainly deserves a spot here.

  • Muddle the Mixture - Hits a lot of high-priority targets, but mostly is a tutor.

  • Negate - Just a generally powerful card, hits a ton, easy to cast (not high devotion), and is cheap to cast.

  • Spell Pierce - Not the best card in the world, but as a one mana counterspell, it is really good.

  • Unwind - Some between Negate and Rewind. Useful as it has low devotion and isn't as expensive as Rewind.

Hatebears

Aven Mindcensor - It is a pretty good hatebear, acts as a way to hurt tutors, fetchlands, and all sorts of combos.

Miscellaneous

  • Shred Memory - Commonly is a tutor, but can act as graveyard hate worst case scenario.

  • Silence - Can shot off storm, a turn of a player about to go off, or just protect you combo-turns, but is a great card in the deck.
