Definitely better. it protects our guy from dying to burn and destroy effects, and prevents all combat damage, and can be used to clear a path to deal direct damage, rather than just pumping our guy to kill another and maybe keep our guy out of harm's way.

I actually missed Gods Willing . That would indeed be a better choice than titan's strength. Still, for that it will have to wheel back around.
I also love how we are having more of a discussion about our second pick from this pack than our first pick. I guess first pick is just pretty obvious.

The overwhelming majority of our picks were obvious choices simply because we've gotten such crappy packs. We have yet to see a rare in our colors, we saw very few of the awesome uncommons (two Magma Jet s are nice, but the 2 damage won't be enough in many situations), and few of the good commons.

We would've been better off going with black. oh well.

We got two very open colour, and we got the signal that it was picked on first pack, and after the 2nd one it's sure they went for it. It's just based on the luck of not seeint great cards in those colour. It happens but it's not because we made a bad choice this is the thing that you can only predict. And maybe we would still have been unlucky in the colour that we picked.

Yeah, we didn't see any particularly great black stuff at the beginning; it's only recently that we're seeing a whole bunch of good black, and there's no way to see that coming.

It's already been said, but i think Purphoros's Emissary is the pick. fingers crossed for a good rare in our colors

Alright pick 2 is here, was delayed another day. There's a lot of blue, and the best thing here for us is Spearpoint Oread .
November 14, 2013 10:20 a.m.
That puts us at 23 playables. Not that all of them will get played, just saying that we get 13 more chances to pick up cards to replace some of them. I'm looking at you Silent Artisan .

I like the Oread. I'd vote for that. It's a shame that so much in this pack is GOOD and not in our colors. :/

That is quite a lot of blue.
Though it definitely looks like our pick is Spearpoint Oread .

It's good. True that all the blue is also pretty good.

Yeah the lifelink can really help with our plan and it's a good value creature.
I like Minotaur Skullcleaver but our plan isn't quite in this direction. So one more vote for the Hopeful Eidolon

Hopefully we get to enough lands to bestow all these enchantment creatures.

More bestow can't hurt. (Except against green I guess.)

I think it works better for our deck since we have cards like Akroan Crusader , Cavalry Pegasus , and Evangel of Heliod . Though the thought of Two-Headed Cerberus with Purphoros's Emissary is pretty enticing...
Is there any chance that we're the only group going RW? I'm almost tempted to see if we can snag the Two-Headed Cerberus (which has no chance of tabling) and see if we get lucky enough to pick up the Akroan Crusader the second time around.

mossflower makes a point. Can we hazard a guess that no one else is running Boros colors? If we can, I'd go for the Cerberus. If we can't, I'd go for the Hoplite.

Or Gods Willing , it's a very good trick, I'd say better than titan's
