Can we spell it "Minotaurnado"?

I like the "Minotaurnado" spelling better as well.

I've found that going 2-color is almost always the best strategy in draft, so we should aim for that route. Which specific colors we go should depend on what we open.

Either or works for me. I had hesitations on my initial team name, anyways. Minotaurnado!

First pack is here guys. I don't see much that's looking good, my first instinct is Wingsteed Rider . Thoughts?

There is virtually no blue, a prime color in this draft. If this was pick 2 I'd say someone took a blue card, but the only blue symbol we got is Horizon Chimera , which might be worth taking.

How is Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx in limited?

Yeesh, not the best rare in limited. It's alright in monocolored, and it's a long shot that it'll make it past pick 4-5, but it ain't a first pack first pick. I've seen Wingsteed Rider beat face in Limited, though. I'd up for choosing that.

I mean, limited will likely lead to clogged boards pretty quickly, nykthos could be very useful.

I'm down with the Wingsteed Rider . I've seen him get huge.

While I really do like the Horizon Chimera I don't like "locking" us in those two color already. As much as I like blue, I don't think heading in the draft for a particular color is for the best.

I do like the Wingsteed Rider as it doesn't lock us in any way, this pack is quite meh for a first pack. I wish we'd have gotten a little bit of something. There is no real bomb nor strong form of removal other than Time to Feed but it requires a specific strategy.

My vote goes for the Wingsteed Rider for now.

Yeah, Time to Feed seems a bit wrong for first pick. Rider is one of the best white commons, let's hope we get to play it

+1 Wingsteed Rider

The only other things I see worth considering are Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx and Horizon Chimera . I have a hard time evaluating Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx in limited, but I'm leaning towards to not worth it. As for Horizon Chimera vs Wingsteed Rider , I feel Wingsteed Rider can have a more explosive impact on the board, which is what we're looking for in a first-pick.

They told me they both vote for Swamp

While I definitely agree that Swamp is quite the powerhouse in limited, I see no real reason do against the majority here:

+1 Wingsteed Rider

...if for no other reason than to keep our options open. I will admit that it has more potential to be a threat than Horizon Chimera , which was my first instinct for a pick. I don't honestly think we would be "locking" ourselves into those colors if we did go with the chimera, since first pick in a draft always has the potential to simply not be used. That being said, Wingsteed Rider should be a strong, evasive creature and can be more easily fit into what ever deck we end up playing.

For the other option, I do love me some Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx shenanigans, but I wouldn't want to play it unless I could play it in multiples. That probably isn't going to happen here, so I'm fine passing it.

Does the legend rule apply to drafts? I know that you can include more than four of a card in a draft, but I cant find anything about the legend rule in drafts.

It does apply.

Any update on the packs?

Pack 2's here, once again a land rare. Decent cards I see are: Dauntless Onslaught , Stoneshock Giant , Leafcrown Dryad , Prescient Chimera .

I feel like the most powerful card in here is onslaught, and it does match up with our rider. Looking at the rest of the pack, there is one black, one blue, two green, and tons of white and red here. An uncommon is missing, I'd guess either blue or black (or Shipwreck Singer ).

Thoughts?

+1 Dauntless Onslaught

I'm liking the idea of going down a heroic-type deck. The other option that I like the most is Leafcrown Dryad . These enchantment creatures just seem very strong in draft.

Also, what, no mention of Sedge Scorpion ? That kind of negligence could lead to us falling out of Sedge Scorpion 's favor. Wouldn't want that.

+1 Dauntless Onslaught . I was hoping we would see another, after that last pack, and look!

+1 Dauntless Onslaught . It's a powerful card from what I've seen, and goes very well with what we already have. That being said, I wouldn't be unhappy with Leafcrown Dryad or Stoneshock Giant . Both are very efficient creatures.

I'll vote for Dauntless Onslaught myself. I'm a fan of it.
