I'm not sure I enjoy the total lack of Red in this pack. I'm more a fan of Ray of Dissolution as it serves as creature removal against bestow as well as may of the strong enchants of the set.
But since our color aren't set at all and we're quite early on the pack, looking at the amazing and quite proven Nimbus Naiad it could works. And we're receiving the signal from the previous pack that had a Nimbus Naiad open as well.
I'm tied for these two options. I might precise my pick later in the day.

No red now might mean more red later, or it might mean no red at all from now on. We'll have to see what colors we get pushed into, because the signals are pretty messed up atm. Some of the packs were pretty weird, like our pack 1 only having one blue signal

I'm a little worried about being passed two Nimbus Naiad s. They're pretty strong, and unless there was just, like, no blue in this set of packs, we're going to be passing them along to someone who'll have a lot of blue at this point, probably.

Yeah, getting two Nimbus Naiad suggests to me that blue is open for us. I think we should take the Nimbus Naiad .

Nimbus Naiad seems to be the best pick. Plus we just passed one. I would hate for someone else to have two of them.

+1 Nimbus Naiad for sure, great card all around.
And yeah, I also noticed the unsettling lack of red...

What could they have taken rather than Magma Jet ?...hmm?

Yeah probably our best pick. Nothing impressive here, move along.

With 5 votes, I'll tell Caley this will be our pick, but as always, if someone has a different suggestion please let us know before it gets late. The earlier we discuss each pick, the more time we have to reach a solid conclusion.
I'd like to point out that this pack is really low on creatures, with only two critters available (at pretty mediocre power levels). We should really focus on getting playable creatures more than spells, reserving most if not all of our spells towards removal; they seem to be getting picked high (might be why Magma Jet wasn't picked earlier).

I can dig it. Decent-sized trampler that gets bigger late game. Ill-Tempered Cyclops it is.

Also, I think the Ill-Tempered Cyclops would be best here, we need to take some good meat. If not that, then the Observant Alseid is the second pick.

You're already in the group, this is where we're discussing the packs as they come. This is a private page that only our group and caley can see

ill-tempered cyclops is definitely the pick here. that's where my vote goes as well.

Observant Alseid > Ill-Tempered Cyclops .
Think about the base stats: Observant Alseid is a 2/2 Vigilance for 3. Ill-Tempered Cyclops is a 3/3 for 4. I'd rather take the cheaper, more aggressive creature.
Then if you look at the long-term potential, Observant Alseid provides +2/+2 and vigilance to ANY creaure for five mana, with the bonus that you'd still keep a 2/2 creature if that any creaure dies. Ill-Tempered Cyclops provides an additional +1/+1 for an extra mana, but it can't provide that buff to any creature, and if it dies, you don't get anything to make up for it.
Basically, Bestow is a stronger mechanic than monstrosity, especially if we can pick up a good number of bestow cards.

The cyclops also has trample and it gets +3/+3 not +1/+1

Nimbus Naiad seems to be the strongest card in here
