The mill version of this deck can be found here: Tamiyo's Turbofog.
I decided to take a different spin on a turbofog deck I made back in February (see above), replacing the mill effects (starring
Jace, Memory Adept
) with XR burn spells like Devil's Play, and I figured I'd test out my brand-spanking new Tibalt, the Fiend-Blooded while I was at it.
The idea, like with most turbofog variants, is to use Rites of Flourishing and Otherworld Atlas as draw engines to keep your hand full of Fog effects. As long as you have a fog, you can stall your opponent's creature attacks turn after turn, allowing you to put more and more lands on the field, until you can burn your opponent out with any of the following finishers:
Red Sun's Zenith and Devil's Play: reusable burn spells that capitalize on your vast tracts of land.
Chandra, the Firebrand: allows you to copy massive fireballs at your opponent's face. Her +1 and ultimates are just molten, burning gravy.
Tibalt, the Fiend-Blooded: his +1 ability might require some careful consideration, depending on how many fogs you have available, but his other abilities are perfectly suited for this deck. His -4 lets you punish a control player for holding onto their hand, and combos nicely with the Rites and Atlas draw engines, and his -6 lets you outright kill an overextended aggro or midrange player.
Utility spells -
Noxious Revival lets you reuse spent fog effects, and can bring back a planeswalker from an untimely death.
Slagstorm
and Blasphemous Act are board sweepers, and in many cases will let you go a turn or two without having to cast a Fog, just in case your hand is starting to get light.
This deck is purely for fun, because I couldn't let the opportunity to play my new Tibalt and Otherworld Atlas pass me by, but I'm happy to get serious advice on how to improve it.
Comments, suggestions, and +1s are all appreciated!
