A clockwork army of death, just wind it up and watch the fun ensue
the idea of this deck is to use lots of methods for putting counters on my clockwork creatures through tap abilities or proliferate which all synergise especially well with Unwinding Clock
the main source of counter growth is Steel Overseer who works well in multiples and adds counters at instant speed for combat tricks.
the clockwork aspect are the beaters of the deck Clockwork Hydra and
Clockwork Vorrac
they both have their own counter adding ability ensuring consistent growth in the absence of other counter sources.
these creatures are also supported by a weenie aspect in the form of Arcbound Worker and
Arcbound Stinger
these guys usually just provide another proliferate and counter target increasing the effectiveness of the Steel Overseer ability, while providing a reasonably disposable defender that the opponent will be reluctant to attack into for fear of growing that Hydra or vorrac on the field through their modular ability.
the main proliferating sources are:
Contagion Engine, adds two counters to each creature I control as well as providing a rather effective wrath effect on the opponent's board
Tezzeret's Gambit, gives draw to maintain momentum and adds power to my board.
utility artifacts include:
Darksteel Forge, makes my artifacts indestructible helps against burn, destroy, wraths and combat.
Carnage Altar
, this provides an instant speed modular trigger to help apha strike and win games. may be substituted for
Archbound Ravager if budget concerns aren't an issue.
Expedition Map, allows for consistent tron land assembly
Sculpting Steel, provides extra copies of everything else in this deck allowing for fun board states with 5-6 Steel Overseers
Unwinding Clock basically completes the deck both in flavour and mechanically, accelerating counter growth. Gets rather ridiculous in large multiplayer games usually people scoop when you have a board of 30+/30+ indestructible creatures lol.
