Thanks for the help on my deck. Looks like our decks are very similar in the way we play selesnya aggro. In my deck I have abandoned the ramp of Avacyn's Pilgrim in favor of another one drop, Dryad Militant . I find that this works well for me so I can be aggressive. I don't know how it would do for you so try it out! Thanks again!

Thanks alot I actually think I could use Dryad Militant awsome card very aggressive perfect for FNM. Im going to remove the Call of the Conclave or at least move him to SB what do you think

It looks very solid...+1 vote from me!

Looks better. I think that you need 2 more Ajani, Caller of the Pride because he is one of the cards that can win you the game. Plus, especially with the new legend rule, if you have two Ajanis in hand, you can play one and -3 it then play the second one next turn, sacrificing the old one (If it isn't dead) and then -3 three that one. 4 Ajani, Caller of the Pride is also good because it is one of the cards that can definitely win you the game combined with Loxodon Smiter + Rancor

That's funny that you say that because that exact combo did win a game for me at FNM but I was also running a playset of Ajani, Caller of the Pride in another game and I ended up drawing all 4 in opening hand, a"hoax" maybe more like a kick in the balls.

I would play -2x Dryad Militant , 1 Ajani, Caller of the Pride and 1 Plains for 4 Elvish Mystic . Your win by turn 4 combo's all include Avacyn's Pilgrim and having an extra 4 seems like it would help. The only reason i suggest removing a land is because you are a faster deck, and are playing way to many lands. Cool deck, +1

Oh and if you want to keep the ajani (you would still have 7 sources that give double strike) then you could remove 1 more land (decks with a similar pace to yours play way less)

Thanks I'll try to work that in there is Arbor Elf also which I am going to replace the Avacyn's Pilgrim with in September to keep this standard as well as a few other things. Thanks for the upvote

July 23, 2013 1:09 a.m.

theonyc says... #9

um... Arbor Elf rotates out too. Innistrade block and m13 rotate out at the same time, core sets rotate out with the block proceeding them. When rtr rotates, so will m14.

The Arbor Elf is also good with Temple Garden I think I may run 4Arbor Elf and 4 Elvish Mystic when September rolls around. what do you think?

flashter says... #11

oh yeah duh my fault

July 23, 2013 1:16 a.m.

flashter says... #12

So I suppose the Elvish Mystic will replace my Avacyn's Pilgrim

July 23, 2013 1:18 a.m.

theonyc says... #13

yeah, if not that would be great. Luckily for you, you only loose 4x Avacyn's Pilgrim , 4 Rancor , 4 Silverblade Paladin , 4 Sunpetal Grove and 2 Gavony Township . Thats a lot less then most decks.

July 23, 2013 1:26 a.m.

flashter says... #14

Yeah I guess your right but I will be losing some all stars and a duel land I guess it's not that bad but now I gotta look for replacements any suggestions?

What do you think of Unflinching Courage mb? it could be a slow life gaining Rancor . Also Scavenging Ooze could be nice.

flashter says... #16

I think that might be a good idea I was thinking the same thing about Unflinching Courage but how many should I main?

So I changed up a things and so far from a couple of play test's and it's running like a champ what do you think about the changes. In reality I don't have Voice of Resurgence which is a awesome card with a big price tag and that was one I could not swing but I have all of the other cards though.

ygamretuta says... #18

what you have right now is good. Voice of Resurgence , IMO, is really just good against control. Against creature-heavy decks they will massacre it. Want to be the first one to ever sideboard Voice of Resurgence ? haha

Honestly, I don't get this deck. It's evolved in a very weird way and I think you are off track. Yes, you have conditions that can dish out the damage if you get the right draw and if your opponent has no removal. This what's called "playing against the goldfish." But you don't play against a goldfish; you play against a real player and who doesn't have a way to remove threats? Creature removal is one of the most easy things to do, I don't think you will beat good players with this deck. Any player with any experience will have removal. You have 8 mana dorks, which are great if you are a ramp deck trying to drop big threats with CMC 5+. What do you ramp into? Either Advent of the Wurm T3 or Loxodon Smiter T2. Ok great, but that's not a win condition unless your opponent had an incredibly bad opening hand. Yes, soulbonding to a Silverblade Paladin gives double strike, but again there are so many forms of removal out there to deal with it...

If you want to see good aggro decks, I'll post links to a couple.

If you want I will playtest your deck against several different decks and report the results.

I'm not trying to be harsh, I'm trying to help.

Interesting but true yeah if you would help me that would be cool im having a hard time making up my mind. I went to FNM last week and placed 10th outta 17 not that great. So with that being said I could use a few pro tips. If you wanna help I will be very thankful

July 23, 2013 12:08 p.m.

flashter says... #21

Yeah if you wanna run some play tests against other brews be my guest, that would actually answer a lot of questions for me

theonyc says... #22

ygamretuta you are totally off base. Voice is great against aggro. It can 2 for 1 you by blocking a 2/2 and then using the token to block another dude. That being said, he would also be one of many to side board it (naya blitz doesn't use many non-humans main, and sides boards it)

theonyc says... #23

Back to being helpful, ive seen a lot of "aggro decks" recently featuring Elvish Archdruid and 4 Arbor Elf and 4x Elvish Mystic . Has the nut draws in addition to being fairly constant. You also get to play the bomb of your choice

July 23, 2013 1:54 p.m.

flashter says... #24

Yeah that looks cool but the Elvish Archdruid is a little high in manna cost and I probably don't need that many manna dorks but still that's a nice ramp combo.

flashters SelesnyAggro & Tokens "Turn 4 Deck" versus Apoptosiss AEtherling is Alright

Game 1: flashter on the play had two one land mulligans but since the point is to do a fair playtest will not penalize cards and on the 3rd attempt draws: 2x Sunpetal Grove , Elvish Mystic , Dryad Militant , Selesnya Charm , Silverblade Paladin , and Giant Growth about as solid of an opening hand as you can hope for
Apoptosis draws 2x Steam Vents , Hallowed Fountain , Sulfur Falls , Glacial Fortress , Ral Zarek , and Sphinx's Revelation not a great opening hand for Apoptosis, one too many lands and high CMC creatures = no response for early aggro, but well go for it

F1: plays Sunpetal Grove tapped.
A1: draws Dissipate , plays Steam Vents tapped

F2: draws Temple Garden and plays it (F18/A20), Casts Elvish Mystic and Dryad Militant good board presence in the absence of a response<
A2: draws Azorius Charm and there is the response, plays Glacial Fortress .

F3: draws Plains , plays Sunpetal Grove . Casts Silverblade Paladin bonded to Dryad Militant , attacks with the militant, no blocks, before damage flashter casts Giant Growth on militant for the potential of 10 damage, in response Apoptosis casts Azorius Charm returning the militant to the top of the library.
A3: draws Think Twice , plays Sulfur Falls .

F4: draws Dryad Militant and casts it, runs into Dissipate and is exiled. Plays plains. Attacks with unbonded Silverblade Paladin and Elvish Mystic , both hit (F18/A17)
A4:draws Augur of Bolas , plays Hallowed Fountain untapped (F18/A15). Casts Ral Zarek . Uses Ral Zarek s -2 to deal three damage to Silverblade Paladin . In response, flashter casts Selesnya Charm on silverblade paladin to keep it alive. this was an intentional mistake on my part, in a real game I would probably have cast Augur of Bolas , and waited to think twice at end of turn, mainly because I dont want the elf to ding Ral next turn, but I did this to demonstrate how you are using combat tricks to keep your guys alive

F5: draws Plains . Attacks Ral Zarek with Silverblade Paladin and Elvish Mystic at Apoptosis, both hit. Ral Zarek dies, (F18/A14). flashter plays plains to end turn.
A5: draws Rewind . casts Augur of Bolas revealing Sphinx's Revelation , AEtherling , and Desolate Lighthouse , puts sphinxs revelation into hand and the other two to bottom of library. Plays Steam Vents tapped.

F6: draws Gavony Township and plays it. Activates Gavony Township to add +1/+1 counters. Attacks with the elf and paladin, Augur of Bolas blocks the elf. (F18/A11). end step Apoptosis casts Think Twice and draws clifftop retreat
A6: draws AEtherling , plays Clifftop Retreat and casts AEtherling . always a risk casting aetherling on 6 mana, but G/W doesnt have good removal, except for Oblivion Ring , which you should include

F7: draws Temple Garden . This is the only card you have in hand. now what do you do? bluff and attack? For the purposes of this matchup, Ill give you the benefit of the doubt and play it in your favor flashter attacks with both Elvish Mystic and Silverblade Paladin . Augur of Bolas blocks the silverblade paladin, before damage flashter activates gavony township to make the elvish mystic a 3/3 and the silverblade paladin a 4/4. Augur of Bolas dies (F18/A8). flashter plays temple garden tapped.
A7: draws Glacial Fortress and plays it. Attacks with AEtherling , (F14/A8). After damage Apoptosis activates aetherling to exile it, and it returns untapped at end step.

F8: draws Gavony Township . if you attack with both, either the elvish mystic will die or the aetherling stop silverblade paladin and the elf will get through, if you attack with the paladin you wont break through, and if you dont attack the aetherling will start to pound you. flashter attacks with both, AEtherling blocks Elvish Mystic . flashter activates gavony township, the elf still dies and the silverblade becomes a 5/5 (F14/A3), flashter plays 2nd gavony township. End step Apoptosis casts Sphinx's Revelation for 3, drawing Think Twice , Azorius Charm , and Sulfur Falls (F14/A6).
A8: draws Snapcaster Mage and plays Sulfur Falls . Attacks with pumped AEtherling at 6/4 and casts Azorius Charm to gain 6 life (F8/A12)

F9 draws Selesnya Charm and attacks with silverblade paladin, Apoptosis responds by casting Snapcaster mage targeting Azorius Charm , bouncing the silverblade to the top of flashters library
A9 draws Hallowed Fountain . Attacks with Snapcaster Mage and AEtherling , pumped to 8/1, in response flashter casts selesnya charm targeting aetherling. Apoptosis responds by casting Rewind to counter Selesnya Charm , flashter takes 10 damage and dies.

Thoughts: flashter was a bit land flooded midgame not drawing a creature to provide a target for the silverblade paladin. Aggro decks want to run between 24-28 creatures, youre on the light end with 24. If you were attacking with beefier creatures and not a dork on gavony roids you might have won. Onto game 2
