This deck works effectively well, even without Mimic Vats in play, although it does help significantly to have one or two. All of the creatures are high-value creatures with ETB effects. If I need to imprint one of my creatures onto Mimic Vat myself, I can sac them via Fleshbag Marauder or Sidisi, Undead Vizier.

Mimic Vat + Timbermare will shut down most creature-based decks. In my casual circle, we do not play with sideboards, but even if I am playing against artifact hate, the value creatures still hold there own weight really well.
