This deck aims to be as quick as it can be while still having answers and protection.

About half of the creature suite is mostly dedicated to creature removal to abuse with Athreos, the others are either utility/reach or devotion assistants.

3 tutors for bitterblossom/contamination lock (or creature recursion/answers), however both are solid cards on their own.

Targeted discard to assist with removing threats, a well timed thoughtseize wins games.

Explaining a few of my card choices;

Righteous Aura: This is a stop all answer to any quick game enders or surprises, as well as defense when there is no appropriate removal available (any source). It slows down the game, which is exactly where this deck wants it.

Augur il-vec: This slot could be devoted to a banisher priest or lone missionary type card. Augur being 2 CMC is relevant in the decks mana curve, Shadow is relevant when pushing through damage, your opponent has to pay 3 life or face you gaining 4 every turn. IMO this is a very underrated card and an assured 3 damage when it leaves play.

Children of Korlis/Kami of False Hope: These cards are a constant mists if an opponent refuses to pay 3 life. they can come down early to add to devotion and might get a few damage in, they shut down combat damage or anything that can't kill you in 1 turn. I have found the extra defense (and synergy with athreos) to be much needed, people wince when the proper one of these creatures hits play. worst case they can save you for 1 turn. If I was going to cut any cards out of the deck I would start here.
