Tiny Leaders is a 1v1 Variant of EDH with 50 cards rather than 100, 25 life, no Commander Damage, and a CMC cap of 3.
This Deck is based around Sacrificing Creatures for Effects and Triggers, while Also forcing the Opponent to pay life to keep them from coming back... (Even though with Oversold Cemetery and other tricks, they will probably come back anyway.)
Some of the more notable Creatures Are Fiend Hunter which will exile a creature, and if saced while the Exile trigger is on the Stack, the creature exiled will stay exiled for the duration of the game. Similar effects are possible with Tidehollow Sculler and
Mesmeric Fiend
both of which will exile a card from the opp's hand and again, if saced with the trigger on the stack, it will remain exiled.
Doomed Traveler will replace himself with a flying token when it dies, Abyssal Gatekeeper will force the opponent to sac a creature when it dies, Corpse Hauler can Return a Creature form the yard to the hand, perhaps causing one of those 3 life payments the Opp made earlier to be a waste. ;) Apprentice Necromancer and Doomed Necromancer can also get one of those Yarded creatures directly back into play. Leonin Relic-Warder can get those indestructible enchantments/artifacts and Gods out of the way. Fleshbag Marauder Forces the Opp to pay the life or have his whole field of creatures destroyed.
Obviously with the focus being on my Creats dying i need Sac Outlets. So there is Altar of Dementia which has the added benefit of milling the Opp a little bit. Viscera Seer Allows for a useful Scry, Blood Bairn and Bloodthrone Vampire get pumped up +2/+2 for sacing a Creat. Altar's Reap can draw a couple cards...Likewise,
Disciple of Griselbrand
is a Pay outlet, but he can gain some Life as well. Phyrexian Altar is there to turn those Sacs into a lil extra mana, which can be useful for recasting or activating abilities.
And lastly there are things that will outright kill the Opps Creatures like Doom Blade, Tragic Slip, Murder,
Terror
, Attrition, (which is a good symetrical effect for this Deck.) and Sunlance.
Some other removal includes Condemn for those Enemy Generals, as well as
Revoke Existence
and
Solemn Offering
for artifacts and enchantments. Finally, for the ever-useful quasi-Boardwipe, there is
Infest
.
All in all I find this deck to be reasonably Powerful and Loads of fun especially with the highly complex decision trees that are present in each game.
Any Suggestions anyone has would be Very welcome and Appreciated, and any +1s would be very Cool.
Thanks for stopping by to check it out!!
