@shadow63

Thanks for the +1!

Already considered Platinum Emperion , but he ultimately destroys my only win-con, which is having 0 life with Platinum Angel and using Soul Conduit .

thats a sneaky way to win id use Breeding Pool and possibly some cards with the phyrexian mana that lets you pay 2 life instead of tapping lands maybe something like Norn's Annex

I can put Spellskite 's ability on the stack a couple of times if I want to lose/pay life.

The problem with Breeding Pool is, that I want to choose when to lose life. Also, other people at the table WILL attack me, even if they know what's coming at them as they try to outspeed or interrupt my combo.

Norn's Annex however looks interesting, I'll give that a thought!

I'm thinking that you would want to play big artifacts like Blightsteel Colossus in the main so it's easier to beat face. How good is Darksteel Forge in play? Sundering Titan night also be a good inclusion.

If you want to cheat artifacts out, the best artifacts are ones that basically have "beat target player's face in" as an ability. It would be very unfortunate when you tried to combo that your Platinum Angel was pathed. Especially if the people you play with know your combo.

@raja479

Thanks for taking the time to look at the deck and comment!

The core combo Darksteel Forge + Lightning Greaves + Platinum Angel plays quite nicely, and with all the tutoring, can be considered consistent. This is especially true for "game 1" situations.

Spellskite and Muddle the Mixture do a great job eating up/countering exile effects. Also, Master Transmuter can save other artifacs in response to critical effects. My conclusion was therefore, that "big artifacts" like Blightsteel Colossus do not belong in the main deck, as Soul Conduit wins the game the turn it's played on.

But once you're on it: What I'm really afraid of is Champion of the Humans (1st Place @ FNM + TNM!). Cards like Stony Silence and Grand Abolisher cripple my combo. Any ideas for that?

White hate is very very strong against artifacts, but I believe there was a card named Reclamation Sage that will ruin most hate cards and you have fauna shaman to tutor for it.

You should be able to win through an abolisher though. And he is very very well underplayed, so unless your meta always seems to have the dude around, you should still be fine. If you have to play a full on death and taxes list though.....good luck....because that seems unwinnable a bunch of removal.

My argument for the big fatties was so that you would only need to set up transmuter and a random artifact to cheat them in. You need to cheat in a second card with platinum angel and make sure neither is removed.

One thing your deck really really needs is a second win condition if you keep with angel. Even playing Wurmcoil Engine or Batterskull helps.

You make a solid point with the second win con, that's why Blightsteel Colossus is sided... I might want to put him in the main deck.

But still, once the core pieces are on the battlefield, they are VERY hard to remove and for this deck, the defensive setup shall be the default one, as there are other Master Transmuter decks that went the agressive route you seem to be promoting and I was looking for something different here (I kind of want to keep it paranoid, like the name states).

The decking-out clock is also on my side :D

i love it! I would try Scryb Ranger get more use out of the transmuter.

Thank you!

Scryb Ranger is too situational here I'm afraid. Untapping a creature for and a forest is just slow. I don't see a lot of synergy with it.

i think youd might wana use another life drainer card as spellskite is your only card that can drain you in a single shot

@shadow63

You're right, and I have thought about that. But don't underestimate the opponent. If anything, I will stop being attacked at around 3-5 life and only if the opponent knows what I'm up to.

It's a combo race. You just have to know your position with this deck, if you're ahead, you can start shocking yourself with lands early. If not, you'll have other things to do anyway. All in all getting to 0 life is not a major problem here, as I have 15 cards that can pull a Spellskite out of the hat practically out of nowhere ( Fauna Shaman , Muddle the Mixture , Fabricate , Academy Ruins )
