Titania, Green Peace Extremist

Commander / EDH*

Ketamine_Monkey

I've been tuning this deck from the minute I saw Titania in the Commander 2014 set, and she's been the deck I've had the most fun with since. It's been a major contender in my play group from the start, but we were never really competitive with our builds and I'm looking to take it to the next level and see what it is really capable of so if anyone has a build they've been using or cards they think would benefit the deck I'd love to hear about it.

I built this to stand up to as wide an array of threats as I could, but being mono green is pretty limiting so there are some glaring weaknesses: creature-based combos are hard to deal with since the only instant-speed answer I have is Beast Within; it crumbles to control decks if I'm getting focused since I have zero answers for counters; and even though I have good draws spells it will run out of gas if I can't find any.

Outside of those issues this deck is a blast to play! Aside from the usual benefits that go along with playing green Titania allows for quick recovery from sweepers, putting from ten to twenty damage on board the next turn and giving you the upper hand. She also stops MLD, which may or may not be an issue in your meta, but is still one less thing you'll need to worry about.

Here's a quick break down of how the deck wins:

The main win-con is good 'ole Avenger/Hoof. This tried-and-true, unimaginative, groan inducing dynamic duo is what ends most of the games I play.

Titania is the ever-present plan B. There's plenty of ways to sac my lands to create tokens at EOT, which is risky, but can lead to early victories. Cards that enable this are: Constant Mists, which also shuts down battle cruisers; Fortitude; Whiteout also provides more protection against flying threats; Sylvan Safekeeper; and Sunstone.

Another game winner is Azusa, Lost but Seeking+Crucible of Worlds+Strip Mine. Getting these out early has resulted in the saltiest wins I've ever witnessed. Late-game it only sticks around for a turn at most, but that's long enough to shut down the player giving you the most trouble.

Other than that it's a mid-range green deck that hopes to remove artifacts and enchantments that are a bother and get in damage when and where it can.
