To All Who Would Oppose Us, Death!

Standard Aggro Mono-Black

deadgroove

Sideboard

Mono Black aggro with late game preservation in the form of Bearer of Silence and Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet. Can get to a blistering start with the right hand, putting amazing pressure on the opponent with recursable graveyard creatures and on point removal.

So far it has run over Abzan, Bant Company, Esper Control, Dark Jeskai and more I can't remember. Has problems with R/B Dragons aggro and Jund Aristocrats.

Suggestions are always welcome. The deck has been playtested and put through the ringer at fnm multiple times and the version below I feel is pretty close to finished.

So this deck performed better than I could of imagined!

Game 1: VS Mono Blue Mill (2-0)

So this was a game against a friend who brewed up a mono-blue mill deck with artifacts and synergy with Thopter Spy Network, Altar of the Brood and Hangarback Walker. It was interesting, but my curve was faster and he ran out of juice fast in both games. Drana and Erebos's Titan were both threats he couldn't deal with.

Game 2: VS Four-Colour CoCo (2-0)

This dude went 4-0 with this deck in another tournament and I was honestly a bit concerned with creatures like Savage Knuckleblade and Mantis Rider. But as it turns out my curve yet again prevailed, Bloodsoaked Champion, Carrier Thrall and Despoiler of Souls all prevailed. And Fleshbag Marauder, which just cleared his board of threats and allowed me to out aggro him fast.

Game 3: VS Jund Aristocrats (0-2)

So this was aristocrats, but with red thrown in for... Well i only saw him play Radiant Flames. Unfortunately for me, he curved perfectly into 3 zulaport cutthroats, a Catacomb Sifter and a Nantuko Husk. Then he played Empty the Pits and sacced me to death. Next game he got a lot of Catacomb Sifters early game and cleared my board with a Fleshbag Marauder and beat me down.

Game 4: VS Abzan (2-1)

First game went well, curved out quite nicely as my opponent couldn't draw a black mana source. Game 2 he resolved an early Gideon, Ally of Zendikar and I just couldn't deal with it. Game 3 went long but I managed to out value him with Despoiler of Souls and Bloodsoaked Champion's recursion and Self-Inflicted Wound his Shambling Vent then Duress his Gideon. Intense but I came out on top.

So yeah, I am very happy with how this deck turned out, a lot stronger than I gave it credit for. A lot faster, too! Can't wait for Oath to come out, as I definitely feel like Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet can improve my long game and round out the curve nicely.
