i don't see why have the venser in therehe is just a good planeswalker in your deck

The 2/2 split in the fetches seems to be doing pretty good for now. The Venser, the Sojourner is very good in the deck. Just for the fact that he can make my token army unblockable is enough, but he can also create tokens when I have either Leyline of the Meek or Intangible Virtue out and a Flayer Husk or Batterskull . He can also flicker the Rise of the Hobgoblins so I can get an army that way too.

It's a shame Day of the Dragons isn't modern...
On another note... you might want to consider Charge Across the Araba as a win-con to support your tokens if you lose your enchantments

splashing green is great for polymorph decks. non-creature ramp like Explore and Growth Spasm could help speed things up a bit.
Awakening Zone is a great card to consider as well. See Beyond can ususally be found in these kind of decks as well simply because having Emrakul, the Aeons Torn in your hand sucks.
November 8, 2012 12:46 p.m.
Thanks for the suggestion, but Charge Across the Araba doesn't really do much. I typically don't go past 3 tokens so I don't overextend and use up all my resources.
I played and tested against a green Polymorph deck. My deck would beat it 5 times out of 6.
Plus, with this build, I only have 5 spells that are blue in the entire 75 cards (4 Polymorph , 1 Venser, the Sojourner ), which is very helpful when I want to cast Spectral Procession for 3 mana.

I run a very similar polymorph/token swarm deck and have had success with Vault of the Archangel I would probably run Sundering Growth over disenchant in the sideboard simply for the populate bonus. Maybe even Rootborn Defenses against removal happy decks. The deck seems really solid and original though--well done!

Thanks. I forgot about Sundering Growth . I tried Rootborn Defenses before though. I found Trinisphere to be more helpful.

It's not exactly draw, but Arcbound Reclaimer would be good. Maybe also look at Throne of Geth + Fecundity (a favorite of mine).

Godhead of Awe could be a good addition to this, most of your tokens are already 1/1's so it'll level the playing field a bit
November 19, 2012 10:52 p.m.
@jan2692wal : Godhead of Awe would be nice, except for the fact that it is a creature. I would rather hit a Emrakul, the Aeons Torn over Godhead of Awe off a Polymorph every time.
@Kasseem: Although the fateful hour on Gather the Townsfolk is nice, the instant speed that Raise the Alarm is much better. More times than not, I'll be wanting to hold back mana so I can use Path to Exile (or at least make it seem like I will), or use it at the end of turn to avoid a wrath effect and still be able to attack. Typically, if I'm at 5 or less life, I'm dead from burn or an unavoidable damage. I very rarely live while at 5 or less life.

Seriously? All these comments and no one mentioned Proteus Staff ? Did I just not read carefully enough?

I used to run Proteus Staff , but it was too slow more times than not.

What do you think about a couple card:Runechanter's Pike in a build like this? With predominantly instants and sorcs and having spirits in the air it could be good. idk.

I think card:Runechanter's Pike would do better if the Polymorph concept was taken out. That way it's more focused on just swinging.

Any thoughts about replacing Oblivion Ring with Rest in Peace in the side? I've been considering Rest in Peace lately because it stops graveyard dependent decks, as well as works with Suppression Field to shut down Arcbound Ravager (Suppression Field gives an additional cost to sacing an artifact to put counters on it, and Rest in Peace prevents modular from giving its counters to another creature).

Venser, the Sojourner is useless in a token deck.
You will only ever want one Emrakul, the Aeons Torn .
Add Lingering Souls .
Siding into Trinisphere is a terrible idea, since it equally destroys you're deck. Same with Suppression Field with Flayer Husk . If your trying to hate out combo, then use Rule of Law or Ethersworn Canonist .
December 18, 2012 4:55 a.m.
@MagnaLynx21 : Venser, the Sojourner is no where near useless. He can +2 and Living Weapon to gain me a creature (as I have 6 "anthem" cards), or a used Windbrisk Heights to get me a new card to hideaway, or Rise of the Hobgoblins so that I can spend any extra mana to gain more creatures, or a Planeswalker to restore their Loyalty counters when they get low. He can also -1 to make all my tokens unblockable for the turn. The -8 should be obvious if I get that high, but I usually don't need to.
I've had many games where I would draw one Emrakul, the Aeons Torn , and because I have no way to discard it, it's nice to have a backup.
This deck wouldn't like Lingering Souls . I'm already splashing blue for the Polymorph s and Venser, the Sojourner . I don't need to splash black to flashback the Lingering Souls . I like to always get triple white as early as possible so I can cast Spectral Procession for 3.
And as for the side, you can't look at it with the main as a whole. When Trinisphere comes in, small drops normally go out so I'm not affected as much, and it helps for the random Nivmagus Elemental decks too (as those are typically land-light). When Suppression Field comes in, the equipment come out to some extend. I know the drawbacks of it, but it is very useful in the matches it's sided in for. At first glance it may seem like the sideboard only hurts me, but I know how to use it, and I know how to play around my own cards so they don't hurt me as much.
Oh yea, Venser, the Sojourner (of whom you seem to hate on) can fix the "problems" you seem to think my side gives me. +2, bounce Trinisphere or Suppression Field . Oh look, I don't have those problems on my turn now...
While I appreciate you giving feedback, please refrain from criticizing things without considering why they are there and what they can do. If you honestly didn't know the intricacies of the deck, then I hope you can now understand them a little better.

Venser, the Sojourner happens to be my second favourite planeswalker, but fact is; in modern, if a five drop isn't wining the game the turn it resolves, it's just not good enough. Granted he might get there with his -1, only if you've had the perfect draw, however. Even then, a better card to use for this purpose is Brave the Elements .
All the other uses you've mentioned are way to situational and slow to really be worth a slot. However, I'll be thinking about the hideaway lands and Venser for a future EDH deck, so thanks for that!
Lingering Souls is the best token generator in the format, and you can easily splash into esper of Godless Shrine without much hassle with turn three Processions. Besides, three Windbrisk Heights are going to mess up a turn three Procession more often than not anyway. (I know this from playing Soul Sisters, it's often frustrating)
The reason for just one Emrakul, the Aeons Torn is because the only time you want to see it, is after you cast your Polymorph . The old BW tokens deck used a similar alt win condition last season.
You're on the right track, don't get me wrong; but you've just got a few goofy cards and interactions that just aren't really needed.
December 18, 2012 11:38 a.m.
do you get the extra turn once emrakul hits the battlefield?
December 22, 2012 10:46 p.m.
Not via Polymorph . But you do get it via Windbrisk Heights .

could use more fetches like probably 3 of each or 2 of one and 3 of the other
