Just curious about your opinion of Fatal Push, and if its interaction with fetchlands is enough for it to see play in your deck; or Modern as a whole. Cool deck, cheers!

Hey thank you very much, mahanhen! As far as our deck specifically, it is a possibility, if the card proves overwhelmingly well in a variety of decks, then I will test it. As far as Modern as a whole, it will definitely see play, as it kills big Modern heavyweights like Tarmogoyf, Scavenging Ooze, Young Pyromancer, Thing in the Ice  Flip, etc. even without the Revolt trigger!

What I am actually playtesting with right now is the recently spoiled card Hidden Stocks.

ZackBinks says... #3

Oops, the card is actually called Hidden Stockpile.

So Hidden Stockpile isn't a bad card, however have you considered Promise of Bunrei?

January 8, 2017 1:30 p.m.

ZackBinks says... #5

With it being 3 CMC it contends with playing Lingering Souls, and is a tad clunky. Hidden Stockpile is also a tiny bit clunky, but it feeds into itself and provides something our deck sorely lacks, card advantage. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Why Sorin, Solemn Visitor?Did you think about Soul Warden and its clones?

January 8, 2017 8:53 p.m.

ZackBinks says... #7

Soul Warden and Attendant are just too weak as far as this deck goes. Auriok Champion is great because she is protected from red and black.

Sorin Solemn Visitor is in the deck because he is the superior Sorin, with his abilities really complimenting the deck.

I think there's some room to improve your mana base. You're so all-in on color fixing that I was expecting to see a number of double or triple W and B spells in the deck. Yet... all your B costs are a single black mana and generic, so you don't need cards like Fetid Heath at all. With four BW fastlands, 4 Godless Shrine, and 8 fetches you're more than covered for curving out with B, 1B, into WWW.

So consider cutting the Heath for another Vault, a basic (if you're nervous about Blood Moon), or to cut a land entirely if you find you tend to flood out.

Nice deck! +1

I would up the Disenchant or Chalice of the Void in the side and drop the x2 Leyline of Sanctity. 2 doesn't seem enough. If your devoting 4-6 sideboard cards to burn why not go x4 leyline? I get you're playing white and can cast it turn 4, but it sounds like a turn 2 chalice does the same thing, but stops 1 drop creatures/artifacts/enchants as well and you only have 1 card to deal with something like Ensnaring Bridge or Ghostly Prison.

If you're worried about storm and scapeshift, you have hand disruption galore. Just switch Relic of Progenitus for something like Surgical Extraction. You have Rest in Peace to deal with dredge.

My recommendation would be to either get some more answers to anti-aggro or add some reach like Leechridden Swamp or something similar in the side.

Then again, I don't know what you usually play against, so I may be way off.

Thanks for the upvote and suggestion! I probably will go down the Relic of Progenitus and put Anguished Unmaking to have more answer to cards like Bridge.

I think Omeros is right about the mana base with Fetid Heath. I don't think you should cut lands all together though. With Average CMC being over 2, I would tend to say you are right on track with 24 lands.

How are the Concealed Courtyard's treating you? I find in a lot of decks that if use 4-drops as an integral part of the deck that I seem to hit fast lands when I need something else to keep the game going smooth. Are you having that problem?

Great deck!!!

January 16, 2017 4:53 p.m.

ZackBinks says... #12

I don't really see that problem frequently. The fastlands are there to help conserve our life total in the early turns. While you have s point on 4 CMC threats sometimes being played off pace because of it, it hasn't happened to me often and isn't that backbreaking when it does.

I like this deck! You know what would also be cool in here? One of these Westvale Abbey  Flip

Great deck, Personally when I play token heavy deck with black I always run 1-2 Foul-Tongue Shriek. That card is totally underrated and can be broken with the right timing.

+1 for token love.

i know what your trying to do with the whole less creatures thing but i seriously recommend Archfiend of Depravity, not only does it restrict your field from a counter swarm but allows you to hit with more tokens for less of a loss. however i also know how much of a removal target it is, so i understand if you decide in favor of not running it.

January 31, 2017 5:21 p.m.

ZackBinks says... #17

To be honest, it being a spot removal target is not why I would not run it. It is 5 mana, requires double black, and does not improve our tokens plan in any way.

It is a great card, just not in this deck. It is however, in my Commander deck, conveniently enough.

January 31, 2017 5:35 p.m.

VampiricMoon says... #18

like i said, i completely understand why you wouldn't run it, all i know is that its always helped me put my opponent in a really tight spot, especially when all my tokens are heavily buffed, and that it works well with Sorin, Solemn Visitor forcing your opponents down to one creature.

Dafri Tokens it pretty sweet!!Just play-tested it for three games and did really good.

2-0 against grixis 2-1 against eldrazi tron, only lost first game wile on the draw, they played turn 2 thought knot seer and turn 3 smasher.2-0 against artifacts blue tron.

They were just 3 quick matches on xmage but damn did I enjoy wining those matches. She is so hot man!

Wish I could upvote x2 but here's some 2cents anyways...

Of the 3 cards you mentioned in your update, my vote is for Collective Brutality

All 3 are good against burn, but having the extra option of pulling a Wrath of God from the opponent shores up the deck's weaknesses more than the other 2 cards.

Timely Reinforcements seems too conditional to get good use out of it in the main.

February 4, 2017 11:33 p.m.

ZackBinks says... #22

Haha thank you for the "second" upvote.

I've tested Brutality extensively, and it's a fine card, it just doesn't show its true power in our deck. Since we don't utilize our graveyard outside of Souls and we don't have any cards that utilize the Delirium mechanic, discarding cards to pick more modes isn't too profitable when the effect include a worse Duress effect, a life drain for just 2, and a Disfigure effect.

I do have one kinda weird suggestion:

Thoughtpicker Witch

Maybe just 1.

Kind of a late game card, but with your hand knowledge and endless token stream, you can keep them from getting any traction.

February 6, 2017 12:15 a.m.

ZackBinks says... #24

It's an interesting suggestion, but a little too conditional to be worth it. Thanks, though!

Looks like a great, fined-tuned list. I'm mildly surprised to see no Bob though. I play bob in modern and have played against him a lot, and feels like you already won if he's not answered. Thanks!
