How do you feel about Smuggler's Copter? It's nice hand fixing in a deck that can't otherwise run any and it makes use of the token created by Blossom each turn. It seems like a good sideboard card to me, because it will punish the opponent heavily for siding out of cheap spot removal and into sorcery speed wipes!

I've tested it. It isn't very consistent and you would have to take out important cards just to make room for it. I like it in the Faerie decks I've seen run it, but it just isn't a good enough fit for Tokens, in my opinion.

Why Sorin, Solemn Visitor and not Sorin, Lord of Innistrad? Doesn't Lord +1 benefit the deck a little more, as it's permanently buffing any future creatures too?
March 20, 2017 1:02 p.m.
I talked about this in the "Cards I Advise Against Using" part of my primer.
First, the +1/+0 emblem making ability is a -2, not a +1. And while it is sort of neat, you'd end up paying 4 mana for a card to produce an emblem that acts like a 1/3rd version of Intangible Virtue (doesn't boost toughness and doesn't give the tokens Vigilance), and ticking him down to only 1 loyalty counter in order to do it, meaning he will most likely get destroyed on your opponent's turn. The tokens he makes are also smaller and do not fly, and the lifeline ground creature is much less impactful than the anthem effect that also give lifelink until our next turn to our creatures that Solemn Visitor provides, and a +1 loyalty ability at that.
Thank you for your question, I hope I answered it well enough!

You are more than welcome to play whatever you want, and I will admit the deck is susceptible to those cards. However, deciding to not try the deck solely because of those cards is a bit unfair when many of the top tier decks like Affinity, Elves and Merfolk get hurt very badly by these cards as well.

Honestly tried to find some flaw this deck could have against meta-game decks but couldn't think of any. The disruption package + sideboard is solid enough to deal with those pesky infect, hexproof, and affinity decks. Cool build. +1

I think the deck looks great, but I would comment a few things:
-Selfless Spirit in the sb is really important.
-I would personally move Auriok Champion also to the sb.
-I think Zealous Persecution is perfectly mainboard-able.
-While Leyline of Sanctity is a great card, I feel Runed Halo covers a wider variety and is not so dependant on appearing on our initial hand.
-we dont really need to run 4 shocklands anymore. 3 Godless Shrine should suffice.
-I am currently testing Damping Matrix instead of Stony Silence, for tron/bant eldrazi (but actually covers a lot of decks). It is a more expensive combination of stony and Pithing Needle. It may be wrong, but I think is worth trying (and survives Eugene and All Is Dust).
For the rest, it is always nice to see people playying BW tokens. The deck is awesome and is a complete underdog eclipsed by the rise of tron decks these days... :(
Check my take on it! BW Tokens

Thank you for your suggestions. I have been playing this deck for years, and have tried all of what you suggested. My findings are:
Selfless Spirit is a viable sideboard option.
Auriok is a card people don't give enough credit to.
Conversely, Zealous is a card I feel people give too much credit to.
Though Halo is powerful, I would argue that it doesn't cover a wider variety, realistically. Besides creatures like Blighted Agent, we can chump block creatures for days. And as far as cards that target us goes, we can only name one with it.
I've tried the 3 Vents and 3 Shrines and it did not work well.
Matrix is a perfectly viable option, no arguments there.
Thank you for taking the time and writing your comment!

I get that Zealous Persecution can be more of a meta call and your local meta might not be so good for it, but why else would you say that Zealous is overrated?
March 29, 2017 4:20 a.m.
It is just a dead card far too often for my liking. Especially with the rising popularity of Death Shadow Jund, Bant Eldrazi and Eldrazi Tron, it doesn't really do enough to justify a spot mainboard in my personal opinion. Sure, you could make an argument that it can squeeze out the last bit of damage necessary to win, but I would much rather have a card that will more consistently do something. I have it in the sideboard against decks like Affinity and Elves, and I don't really plan on moving it anytime soon.
Hope I answered your question!

This is an awesome Deck and Guide ZackBinks. When I first started playing Magic I loved the idea of tokens and tried and tried to make G/W work how I wanted it to but it never did. I eventually landed on trying B/W and having the success I did decided to fine tune it to make it more competitive. Your guide(especially on cards NOT to include like Westvale Abbey Flip) has helped quite a bit.
Well done! I would upvote again if I could.

ZackBinks, I have not yet read through all the comments and updates so I apologize if you have answered this before, but what do you think would be a good budget substitute(until I get a pair of them) for Thoughtseize? I have two Castigate and thought about running those for the time being, or do you think one of the cheaper spells like Duress would be better in it's stead?
April 8, 2017 3:55 p.m.
Duress would definitely be the better budget alternative, as we want to make our opponent discard as soon as possible, as well as know what our opponents has in hand and is running in general. Half of the reason that hand disruption is so powerful is because being able to know what your opponent has in hand gives you a potent strategic advantage.

That makes sense. Thank you for the advice. Tokens really is the best deck in Modern.

Hey--have you any thoughts on Condemn in the sb against Deaths Shadow aggro? It resets their life total and is a 1 mana removal for the Shadow, plus 2-for-1 them if they have multiple. How is that matchup anyway?
April 9, 2017 9:41 p.m.
The matchup against Death Shadow Aggro is phenomenal, which is great since it's arguably the top deck in the format right now. We can chump block for days, all of their creature threats die to all of our removal, and Liliana, the Last Hope just can't keep up with our streak of tokens enough to really be that effective. Also regarding blocking, unless they have a Temur Battle Rage, Death Shadow just can't attack through Auriok Champion. Condemn isn't really a necessity because of all this. Thanks for the suggestion!

Hello!
I'm glad I found you, a friend of mine bought the modern event deck some years ago and he stopped playing magic, I want to upgrade the deck for him so he can play again, could you help me a bit?
April 13, 2017 12:04 p.m.
Of course! What specifically would you like help with?

I haven't seen this in a while. It's got 30 more Upvotes and it looks beastly. Keep it up man :)
EDIT: Could you also link the Top 8 match video if it was covered? Thanks!
April 17, 2017 9:16 a.m. Edited.
Thank you so much!
There is no video coverage, unfortunately. They only do video coverage over Opens, Invitationals, etc. The invitational qualifiers are one peg down from those. Hopefully once my schedule frees up, I will be able to go to these events and get on camera!

With what to buy and in which order, we don't have that much money but I have some of cards that could go in the deck.

The amount that Rest in Peace hurts my opponents that I bring it in for is well worth the price I pay by lowering the value on Souls. Some decks just scoop to it. Crypt is fine but not nearly as powerful.
Persecution is a card I have been considering taking out of the sideboard for awhile, but not to replace it with Leyline. The main matchup Leyline is in for is Burn, and Tokens already has a slightly favorable match up, especially my version. I have been happy with the 3 copies and I can reliably cast it turn 4 if needed.
