Urza Power Scepter 3.0 It's Back!!!

I changed this list around a long time ago to the polykraken version and it's effective and wins games. But the problem is, it's known and it's telegraphed and it's pretty much a one and done shoot your shot kind of deck. Polykraken has close to zero ability to win in the midrange meta and grind out against other better decks with better color access. That said, with an abundance of great new cards such as the reality chip, forensic gadgeteer, and other excellent blue creatures we can fill in the gap and give the deck a chance! This list is much staxier and much more midrange capable of winning with increased infinite mana lines:

Scepter/Dramatic Reversal and any positive mana rock, Basalt monolith/power artifact, basalt monolith/rings of bright hearth, grim monolith/power artifact, and grim monolith/rings of brighthearth, hullbreaker horror/any one mana positive rock another artifact

In addition, we run voltaic key, manifold key, and unwinding clock to further abuse the mana advantages.

We run a nearly one-sided stax package with Urza all stars like Winter orb, static orb, and torpor orb- all of which can be shut off in our opponent's endstep with Urza to avoid the effect on our own. I've included back to basics to punish greedy mana bases and which mostly keeps us unaffected, orbs to slow down opponent's turns, and slew of counterspells and bounce abilities to deal with problem permanents.

Wincons:

As with the Polykraken version of this deck (we still run it) You can bounce everybodies board state and generate infinite mana and board bounces. We can chain this into Urza activations, multiple recasts of Urza, or Timetwister loops

With infinite mana; activate faerie mastermind until you've drawn opponent's out or repeatedly activate codex shredder to mill every opponent out.

I feel like this is the right choice to give the deck a chance in an ever changing meta. More playtesting will tell!

Updates: 10/05/24 Post Ban- BIG Updates

Once again the bans hit this deck hard this definitely slows down our game plan but also slows down the meta as a whole giving Urza a chance he's been sorely lacking as of late. Lots of swaps today:

Out: Mana Crypt, Jeweled Lotus, Alchemist's Retrieval and Machine over Matter, Strix Serenade, Phantasmal Image, Counterbalance, Blast Zone, Torpor Orb, imposter mech, and stern scolding. In: Mishra's Bauble and Everflowing Chalice, Seat of the Synod, Gilded Drake, Pollywog Prodigy, Spell Seeker, Trinket Mage, Etherium Sculptor, Copy Artifact, Pongify, and Spell Pierce.

Wow! It's kind of amazing how many pieces of this deck were in here to stop or benefit from dockside- Strix, Phantasmal, Counterbalance, Torpor Orb, Imposter Mech and Stern Scolding. All gone replaced with pieces that benefit our game plan draw more cards and get what we need in our hands in the form of new creatures. Crypt and lotus for Mishra and Everflowing. It isn't close this swap but it keeps CMC on point and we keep our cheerios count at 8. Seat of the Synod becomes another artifact for count, Gilded drake gets us powerful pieces from opponents, Pollywog I'm testing but can draw us some cards. Seeker and Trinket mage are purely for getting what we need to play combos or protect. Etherium Sculptor and Copy artifact reduce our mana costs and copy artifact lets us make copies of impactful artifacts and can be part of isochron loops as well. Spell pierce and Pongify act as removal and directly replace the more limited Strix serenade and Stern Scolding which we used to keep dockside from hitting. This gives us more flexibility to remove problem pieces when we need to.

I'm currently play testing Volatile Storm Drake, Harbinger of the Seas, Drift of Phantasms for tutor purposes, and Prized statue which makes treasures on enter and hitting the grave yard (both mox sappgire with Urza) and acts as another sapphire while on board. It's also an easy 1/1 sacrifice for more important artifacts like Isochron scepter with transmute artifact/reshape. We'll see how it goes!

Thanks in advance for checking out my deck and I appreciate all insight, questions, or comments!
