Is this a competitive deck? No. This is a monstrosity. An abomination. An amalgamation of three separate ideas all smashed into one semi-cohesive deck. This is not competitive. But it is kind of low-key good, and it is fun! This deck was inspired by Merchant's Abzan Wolves Standard decklist but has been ... modified, to fit both my tastes and my personal collection.
Stick a
Tolsimir, Friend to Wolves
along with
Garruk, Cursed Huntsman
or
Nightpack Ambusher
and you have an engine that will chew to bits any creatures your opponents dare put to the field. Your life total will look at burn and aggro and laugh. Your creatures will munch on Eldrazi like the chew toys they are. Your opponents will pull out their hair at your endless removal. Your friends will begin to question your sanity as you cackle with glee and flash in another wolf to ruin a perfectly good attack.
Nethroi, Apex of Death
is in there to revive your creatures and combat the heavy removal you are likely to face. I know it's a cat and this is a wolf deck, but it's a good card and I like it so it's staying. I had an idea that I still may do, where every other card in my deck has zero power so that Nethroi could yoink them all from the graveyard at once, but that's a deck for another day.
There is no sideboard to speak of. If I were trying to be competitive I'd run lots of protection for my key pieces, but again this is just for fun. The Maybeboard shall suffice.
Did you laugh? Have you been inspired? No? Oh. Well, this is awkward... Um, thanks for taking a look! :D
