Too Many Combat, Too Little Time

Commander / EDH Aggro Casual RGW (Naya) Tokens

Naya is probably one of my favourite colour combinations in Magic. For an aggressive player (which I most certainly am) you get an epic suite of cards to populate your board, ramp into big spells, and swing in sideways for the win.

This deck is built to capitalise on going wide and generating between one and infinite additional combat phases. Samut, Voice of Dissent is the ideal commander for this battle strategy. As a card by herself she's pretty good. She's a hasty double-striker that can be flashed in, and she can untap other creatures if needs be. But the real juice is in that sweet, sweet text: "Other creatures you control have haste." Beautiful.

As I said before, this deck is built to accrue additional combat phases. It is for this reason that most of our token generators create their tokens on attack and NOT when they enter the battlefield. If we assemble the right combo we can get infinite combat phases and exponentially grow our board state. Typically, these combos are assembled with the help of Feldon of the Third Path and Grand Warlord Radha , who are my personal MVPs, and as such I've included a few different ways to tutor for them so that we can really get the snowball rolling.

We have a lot of little dudes. A lot of them are tokens, so they don't get the luxury of going to the graveyard, so protection is important. There's some instant-speed protection in the forms of Boros Charm and Rootborn Defenses , but there's also protection we can recur every turn if needs be. With Sun Titan or Feldon of the Third Path on board with Selfless Spirit or Dauntless Escort in the graveyard, we can potentially give all of our creatures indestructible every turn.

To make sure we get the cards that we want at a given time there's a pretty standard creature tutor package in there in terms of Fauna Shaman , Birthing Pod , and Protean Hulk . And, of course, some staples in Green and White to draw us extra cards when we need it. Generally speaking, Mentor of the Meek is a beast in this department.

Finally, to cap things off, the whole blocker situation. Cards like Odric, Master Tactician and Champion of Lambholt are basically going to guarantee that our guys can get through, given we've built our board enough. Better still, if the Champion is out and we have a creature that creates tokens on attack, her effect is going to resolve before blockers can even being declared. With the amount of tokens this deck can generate she can get super swole.

All things said and done, I think this deck is a lot of fun. It's not for competitive tables by any means, but it's focused enough to be consistent. If you like making tonnes of dudes and turning creatures sideways give this one a try. Hope you enjoy and, as always, advice is appreciated :)
