Yeah, and Dimensional Breach was in my list as well, but it is more for the funny side of it. And it's all good. I just got some good playtesting in and the group LOVES it. I've had some CRAZY stuff happen (the funniest being a 6 mana Weird Harvest + Tempting Wurm against two naya creature decks) and a game wide draw haha.

Lol that's awesome, yeah I'll put some more consideration into Dimensional Breach but I'll probably only put it in if I get some more people's opinions on it. By the way my most glorious moment (that ended up ending the game) was a Weird Harvest for 13, Tempting Wurm and using Jester's Mask's ability on the stack to give the player whose win was imminent a hand full of lands, but I was playing with strangers and one of them played a Filigree Angel with a copy creature spell, a Sanguine Bond and a bunch of artifacts... That didn't work well

Anyways it's awesome to hear that your group loves the deck, it's definitely something else lol, it's good to have another deck on hand though as some people just want to play regular old-fashioned EDH

Yeah, I always keep the Elves and my BANT Superfriends (Derevi Leads The Bant Superfriends ) around with me as well!

Fecundity and Oath of Scholars are great for card draw for opponents, New Frontiers and Arcane Melee are great ramps, Seed the Land , Saproling Cluster and Akroan Horse are effective token sharing Gaea's Herald and Divine Presence are good group protection and Iwamori of the Open Fist is strong for you and your opponents.

Alright, Thraximunder12345, so I added your cards to the maybeboard (thanks for all the suggestions! It gives me a lot to think about), but I'm not entirely sure what I should/would change to accommodate for them, any ideas? In my opinion I'd rather go for the approach of letting people get out high mana cost stuff rather than a lot of tokens as it makes the game more interesting so I'm reluctant to add the token cards, and Gaea's Herald could be problematic for me as my main strength is the ability to selectively allow people to do things. Divine Presence seems good but people have been getting upset with me already in terms of slowing down the game, so I'm not too sure about that one either. I might add Iwamori of the Open Fist but it's very volatile and that kind of card can cause one player to instantly win (it's happened to me before), but on the other hand it is very cool. Fecundity tends to benefit token/small creature decks more than anything, and I don't like the idea of having to kill my creatures for card draw (the cards should benefit me as much as everyone else), but Oath of Scholars looks really interesting. Since it's instants and sorceries people can't benefit from it in any rediculous way, but it gives me more options and allows for me to play creatures/enchantments in addition to instants/sorceries rather than having to choose. My only concern is that there are only about 13(?) cards in the deck that would take full advantage of it (probaly about 7 more that would take partial advantage of it), and it doesn't change the fact that a lot of my cards have heavy colour requirements. Being 4 mana, it could still be worth it, but I'd need to consult some other people first

To anyone wondering, if you remove the nonbasic lands that are over 3 dollars, the deck is only !110 dollars!

squose Where are you buying your cards from? I paid less than $100 for the whole thing

That's a pretty funny card, unfortunately it's a bit above my budget limit

Out of curiosity, if your budget wasn't limited, how would you modify this deck?

got into Commander 3 days ago and is looking for fun shenanigans

KamiYamabushi, I'd probably add in Teferi's Puzzle Box although people have started to dislike the fact that it slows down the game, either Temple Bell or Dictate of Kruphix would probably be replaced by Jace Beleren, I'd consider Oath of Scholars, Oath of Lieges and Oath of Druids, Mikokoro, Center of the Sea and Forbidden Orchard would be added and both Anvil of Bogardan and Font of Mythos would be added. I'm not sure about this one but Mind Over Matter seems promising. It would make you a huge target but it is also a pretty sweet win condition. It's pretty mean though, and seeing as the point of the deck is to play and have a chance of winning for more than one game it'd probably not a good idea, since there is no way to make it seem friendly

Also, these are budget, but Hive Mind and Eye of the Storm can be fun for a game or two, when the rediculous factor is still new and interesting, but keep something else to switch them out for because people will get very annoyed with them very quickly

poorpinkus, Thanks for the thoughtful response. (Quick too!)

One additional question, is there any replacement for Truce? I'm trying to recreate this in MTGO but it well, doesn't exist there it seems.

Thanks again for this very fun deck though. has a lot of respect for deck builders that come up with shenanigans :P

Thanks KamiYamabushi, I appreciate that you like it! There's always Temporary Truce if you wanted pretty much the same card, but Standstill is also a really fun card that I forgot to mention earlier

Edit: I didn't realize standstill was already in the deck lol, I have a slightly older version of it at the moment

It's been a while since I've added anything. But found this and thought it could bring some fun shinanigans. Wishmonger

Any thoughts on Magus of the Candelabra? It'd let me help other people untap their mana

Would you consider adding Day's Undoing as a way to prevent drawing yourself out? It might put it a bit above budget, but it would be good for late game.

Sphinx's Tutelage could have a place in this deck, however it mills very aggressively. Because it targets a specific player it'll feel a lot more personal on the receiving end. And while that is both good and bad, the mill generated by this enchantment is also ungodly in commander, where mono color decks are just as common as multi, and card draw is abundant.

Maybe you could use it to become the Sultai Graveyard players friend or gain everyone else's trust by hating on the current villain of the table.

I know that you feel that Phelddagrif should be playing the diplomatic side of EDH more than any other portion, however, like Windfall and Prosperity, Sphinx's Tutelage could be another win con for the deck, while also giving you a powerful cannon that most players will underestimate when it first hits the field.

Personally I'm not sure whether or not Sphinx's Tutelage does belong here. As you said in the description, "PEOPLE WILL REMEMBER PREVIOUS GAMES." And the Tutelage is a card your opponents won't forget about if you ever blow them out with it. In the end the choice is yours; I don't have a Phelddagrif deck, although I have been debating with myself whether or not I should build one.

Best of luck, and happy hippo-ing.

The problem with Sphinx's Tutelage is that it can be slow, allowing people to realize you actually can win. You generally want to float under the radar as long as possible with the deck, policing the other players so that all remains in balance until you can auto-kill everyone.

poorpinkus says... #21

Penga I agree with buildingadeck, the card wouldn't ever really have a time to be played as my games more often than not end with a sudden one-turn millfest. Either way on that turn I am planning on winning the game, so having a slower mill tactic isn't all that viable.

Magetan Sorry for not responding for so long! I must have seen the suggestion a while ago and forgot about it... Anyways, I don't think Day's Undoing has a place in the deck because it affects everyone, so it would prevent me from decking myself, but it would also prevent everybody else from doing so as well. I have much better options to do this without the downside. I do appreciate that you were looking at newer cards for me though!

maybe Psychic Spiral to say "screw you" to someone at the table

August 28, 2015 1:36 p.m.

poorpinkus says... #23

Kala true, but I need group hug mechanics that can turn into late-game plays, otherwise I get screwed early game. This deck actually works fairly well in 1v1 situations at the moment

Hello!I'm actually building this list, I find it pretty cool; just wondering if, budget apart, you'd add like a WG or UW fetchland or tangoland (maybe instead of bant panorama).

poorpinkus says... #25

Destroy666 Thanks, I'm glad you like the deck!

Blue is in high demand when playing this deck, well, all of the colours are I guess, but I'd say UW would be your best bet, UG would be more preferred because then you can get early game mana ramp but blue is very valuable with multicolour cards as you need double blue for a lot of things, so I'd say UW over WG
