Karns_Pyromancer It's for multiplayer. Actually, I've been acquiring these cards over the period of about 2 years lol. It's not the cost that's prohibitive, but rather the availability of Japanese cards and the fact that I don't like to place large overseas orders.
Any suggestions that you have would be welcome. I have lots of cards in the back of my mind (some of which I just haven't been able to find).

Necropotence is certainly a staple, but I feel like it would be somewhat at odds with the recursion strategy that I'm going to be working in to the deck. That, and it can subtract from a card like Consuming Aberration.
Thanks for the suggestion, though!

How does it subtract from any strategy? Or abberation for that matter

I think I read it wrong. I was thinking cast, not discard. I'll consider adding it, thanks.

I'm a little surprised you're not running Keening Stone. It's rather easy to abuse.
Generally, I suggest people stay away from using Mill as a wincon in multiplayer EDH. If you're set on it though, Mortivore and Wight of Precinct Six are worth considering.

Mackman99 That card would hurt me more than it would help me, I think. In general I want creatures in yards.
Karns_Pyromancer I have considered Keening Stone and Wight of Precinct Six before. What steers me away from the stone is the cost involved. I tried the Precinct and it can be very lackluster early game. I think the one I should probably add for sure is Mortivore.
I have an extremely competitive almost foiled-out The Mimeoplasm deck (I have an original copy on here but haven't updated it in ages). I was toying with gearing the deck in that type of direction (recursion more than mill) with mill as an alternate win con. So I think the final version of this deck I want to build is something with elements of mill, control, and recursion. I'm going to have to do more testing with it first.

Other than crypt incursion you don't have anything to take care of ulamog or kozilek effects of shuffling the graveyard into the library, I would suggest some more exiling instants, bojuka bog is great but only exiles on your turn

I also have Dissipate if they cast them. But your point is well taken. I might consider adding something like Reality Shift because it also deals with problematic things like Avacyn, Angel of Hope.

the trouble with the eldrazi though is that they don't need to be cast and if they are milled into the graveyard then you are poop out of luck. The one time I played againts a mill deck my ulamog was in my hand though, maybe if you could get them to draw cards as well so the eldrazi don't go into the graveyard?

True. I don't really want to have too many cards to deal with an occurence that will happen only every once in a while, though. I might try increasing my tutor count -- that way, if it becomes an issue, I can just search for Crypt Incursion.

Also Leyline of the Void is a great card to have just in case, although it might conflict with the synergy of having consumming aberration and weight of precinct six in your deck

I'd rather search for Bojuka Bog via Expedition Map than run Leyline of the Void. It just hurts too much that I do, in my opinion.
I was also thinking about adding Relic of Progenitus to the deck. It would be another answer for Eldrazi, and if I'm desperate I can nuke all graveyards.

Thanks for the suggestion, but as I mention in the deck description, my playgroup doesn't do combos.

Thanks, I might consider adding Sphinx's Tutelage if I can find a Japanese copy. Only reason I haven't added a Grindstone is I haven't been able to find a Jap copy yet.

IMO, Grindstone is lackluster in Multiplayer EDH anyway against anything by Monocolor and even then with the high land counts of EDH decks you'll often mill very little off of one. I'd rather use Mesmeric Orb. Just be sure to pack a Psychic Spiral or reshuffler (I see Elixir already)
Even if avoiding combo win, Intruder Alarm is such insane value in a Phenax deck that it's basically a must include. You can tap your creatures on basically every turn.
Unless you really get a lot of value out of Silumgar, I'd personally rather have a Wrexial, the Risen Deep (Which pairs well with Urborg), or a Pestilence for boardwipes.
King Macar, the Gold-Cursed, like other Inspiration creatures is amazing in Phenax. You mill a few, ramp a bit, and nuke a creature. So much value.
I like Go for the Throat, Reality Shift, or Hero's Downfall over Ultimate Price because the latter seems very narrow in a flashy format like this.
Deep Analysis is good for this deck because you can use it twice. The Flashback is especially nice if you mill it.
BTW, Keening Stone is both in Maybeboard and in the actual deck.

Okay, thanks for your suggestions.
Intruder Alarm is something I will add eventually. Which Silumgar were you referring to? I might consider replacing Dragonlord Silumgar with Wrexial, the Risen Deep. Silumgar, the Drifting Death's hexproof and fat body is just too good.
I've gone through each of the inspiration creatures. I actually had King Macar, the Gold-Cursed in here at one time. His ability seems great on the surface, but he almost always drew immediate removal or was countered. He also has a very small body, which means I won't be milling much with him. I'd rather have a boardwipe that more likely guarantees me cleaning the board.
Some of the cards in this deck are in here simply because I haven't been able to get a Japanese version of it yet. The removal suite will be slowly upgraded over time. I've built 20+ EDH decks, so I know what needs to be done here.
I like Deep Analysis, even though I'm usually not milling myself.
And while I'm interested in making this deck more competitive, I don't necessarily want it on the cutthroat level. It's more of a fun deck for the most part.

perhaps Mesmeric Orb?
