I don't believe it's already listed but Urza's Incubator Is great for a single creature type deck!

I never knew about the Panorama lands I will definitely have to acquire those for my sliver deck. Thanks for helping me discover them!

Intruder Alarm is one of the best cards for a Sliver Overlord Commander deck. What you need is 5 Slivers total, two of which should be Sliver Overlord and Manaweft Sliver or Gemhide Sliver. Pay 3 to tutor out a Sliver with haste (if you have an open mana from any non-Sliver source available after casting Intruder Alarm, you require only 4 Slivers), namely Heart Sliver, and cast it. Then, proceed to cast every single Sliver in the library from mana costs 1 and 2 up.

Intruder Alarm makes for an extremely difficult to stop combo piece, so I strongly recommend it to anyone making a Sliver Overlord Commander deck. It does better than Heartstone in such a deck (just tutor Gemhide Sliver and Intruder Alarm is GOAT) because you're not running Sliver Queen.

Why not Constricting Sliver in place of any targeted removal i.e. Terminate? I figure with sliver hive constricting sliver would be the ultimate removal spell.

What if I wanted to add some more trading power when blocking with say Venom Sliver?

January 25, 2017 10:22 p.m.

That's what might sliver and other pluses are for you'll also notice that list doesn't have sliver legion in it yet and that card is the sliver steroids it is call to arms but only for slivers so if you add him in there all of your slivers will hit like freight trains.

How would the manabase look like in this list if I had access to any land?

Tundra, Underground Sea, fetchlands, shocklands, etc...

I currently have all the enemy colored fetches, would running these instead of the panoramas hurt the deck? I'm a little skeptical... they're faster but offer less choices since I currently don't have any shocks to throw in (would love to put all 10 in though if I like this deck). I'm also wondering if a Cryptolith Rite would add some mana fixing redundancy but I'm not exactly sure what I'd want to take out.

The Panorama lands are never ideal and only useful in going extremely budget, but you're going to want shocks (or something with basic land types) to accompany the fetches. Fetches and lands like Prairie Stream can be a substitution until you obtain Hallowed Fountains and the like, but without a solid base of 20~ lands, I wouldn't even bother building a 5C Commander deck until you have an efficient mana base. The reason for 10 fetches, 10 shocks, 10 duals is so that way you have a fluid mana base and can cast cards from turn 1 forward. Mathematically speaking, you're going to want at least 20 of these lands to form your, "Base" and overload on lands like Exotic Orchard and City of Brass or even tri-lands so your turn 2s can be strong. Fewer than 20 may have you fighting for colors with your own mana base up to turn four, which is abysmally slow. Fetches let you think ahead and grab what you will be needing at the time, rather than be stuck with a Mountain, Jungle Shrine, and Plains when you have a hand with Galerider Sliver, Syphon Sliver, and Crystalline Sliver.

Make no mistake: The fetches are practically vital and I'd encourage you to run all of them that you can. Shocks are what give the fetches their strength for 5C decks in Commander, though, especially one like Slivers where you may need four different colors on your first four turns. Exchanging 3 life to grab a Stomping Ground to cast your first turn Striking Sliver into Gemhide Sliver is going to be incredibly important, and the less you have to rely on easily destructible permanents for your mana colors, the better (ergo, having 4 colors in two lands, even if you're down 6 life, is much, much better than using a Panorama to grab a basic and possibly being at the mercy of the topdeck for your other colors).

Summary: Get shocks, use all 10 shocks plus whatever fetches you have. Slow fetches may be able to fill in for the other five fetches you're missing temporarily (speaking of ones like Grasslands, Flood Plain, or something. I've seen lots of players properly mana fix with them for Slivers and it's easier to mana fix with those since colorless mana only helps 5C Commander decks when you've already met your colored mana requirements). Exotic Orchard, Forbidden Orchard, Sliver Hive, Ancient Ziggurat, City of Brass, Mana Confluence, Cavern of Souls, filter lands like Wooded Bastion, etc., can help you reach 35-37 without much issue.

Hello Professor,

I understand you're quite busy with the channel and all (I'm a patreon supporter as well!), but I was hoping you could take a moment to give an honest criticism of my pet deck:

I designed the deck to be the absolute ideal tribal EDH sliver deck. I would be very grateful if you could give /me your honest opinion. Consider my deck and deck page to be something of a final or a thesis lol, as I definitely consider myself a student of Tolarian Community College. My parents definitely didn't have the money to send me to Tolarian Academy. Plus, they're far too uptight.

I swapped out Wild Pair for Kindred Summons only because it's funnier

This is an interesting build I like it well done. I have a sliver Edh deck as well, when you get a chance check it out its not particularly budget but oh well.

March 3, 2018 8:12 p.m.

Why are Sliver Legion and Sliver Queen not in the deck? Just too pricey?

What would you recommend swapping out for them?

I think just getting the land base sorted is the most important thing, and then when Sliver Queen etc are options, you can go for those. My sliver deck Slivers Swarm just entered and won its first tournament, so I'm feeling pretty happy with it right now. Feel free to have a look. Up voted

Intruder Alarm is also really good. Tap slivers for mana, when sliver enters they untap. Fun times lol

Paradox Engine for the same reason. All about basically playing your deck. Things like Armageddon and Jokulhaups are also a game winner if all your slivers are indestructible and you got gemhide or manaweft out.

Phyrexian Alter + Crypt Sliver + 2 other slivers equal infinite mana, along with Hivelord means you can play your whole deck. What you do is sack one sliver to Alter, getting a mana from it, then tap the other sliver using crypt's ability to regen the one you just sacked. Sack the one you just tapped and regen it with the other, etc, infinite mana of every color, I think technically you need heart/swift sliver for haste as well.
