My playgroup has some fairly new players so I built a less focused but still interactive deck to keep our games fair. And to my surprise, it turned out to be fun to play with/against! I was pretty pleased with the result so I decided to post it for others to see :)

The game plan is to buff smol creatures into lightning bolts using damage enhancers like Torbran, Thane of Red Fell and Fiery Emancipation. It’s essentially a goblin deck that wins through creature damage and burn synergies.

In my opinion; THIS IS NOT THE STRONGEST DECK and though it won’t win often, it’s made myself and many players laugh as it surprisingly holds its own in casual pods.

Disclaimer, if anyone plays Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite you automatically lose.

THE CARDS

Cards to look out for and their synergies.

• Toralf, God of Fury   combos with damage enhancers and Chandra's Incinerator
• Purphoros, God of the Forge - The best card by far. Be wary of exile-removal
• Damage enhancers like Twinflame Tyrant and Fiery Emancipation act as backup commanders
• Goblin Sharpshooter, Pyrohemia, and sacrificers like Ashnod's Altar synergize with Vicious Shadows once you have a boardstate

Ramp

Not quite as good as green but I’m happy with our ramp package :)

• Arcane Signet, Fellwar Stone, Fire Diamond, Ruby Medallion, Sol Ring, Glittering Stockpile, Pyromancer's Goggles, Primal Amulet   - Cost reduction + Mana rocks <3
• Ashnod's Altar - Great in our token deck
• Braid of Fire - For upkeep engines like War Room and Pashalik Mons
• Chandra, Torch of Defiance + Jaya Ballard - Can draw aggro as well
• Extraplanar Lens, Gauntlet of Might - Mana doublers. Run snow mountains to keep the Lenses as a one-sided effect :)
• Myriad Landscape - Land ramp <3
• Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx - Win-more but decent in this deck
• Sonic Screwdriver, Phial of Galadriel - Toolbox ramp

Card Draw

While draw is rare in red, I often find these are good enough for our needs :)

• Phial of Galadriel - Helps when we’re running with an empty hand.
• Skullclamp - Sacrifice tokens for cards!
• Chandra, Torch of Defiance, Harnfel, Horn of Bounty  , Moria Marauder - Impulse draw
• Reforge the Soul, Wheel of Fortune, Wheel of Misfortune = Wheel effects for disruption + refills
• War Room, Mind's Eye - Card draw at a premium :’)

Burn // Interaction

Burn removal. Note: some of these are only powerful if Torbran is online.

• Blasphemous Act, Rolling Earthquake, Goblin Negotiation - Non-Torbran burn spells
• Blazing Volley, End the Festivities, Electrickery, Delayed Blast Fireball, Pyrohemia - Torbran burn spells. Pyrohemia is particularly good
• Fiery Confluence - Modal. Can be a 12 damage burn spell ;)
• Gleeful Demolition - Can make yourself 3 goblins
• Lightning Bolt - What our 1/1s aspire to be :’)
• Vandalblast, Tibalt's Trickery - Mono-Red staples <3

Instant/Sorcery Enablers + Engines:

• Chandra's Incinerator - Enhances our burn, good with Repercussion
• Coruscation Mage, Kessig Flamebreather, Firebrand Archer, Fiery Inscription - Pingers
• Jaya Ballard - Instant/Sorcery ramp + card filtering
• Pyromancer's Goggles, Primal Amulet   - Spell doubling
• Toralf, God of Fury   - Can board wipe with Torbran, Thane of Red Fell and damage multipliers

Creature Generators / Payoffs

Our beautiful game plan :)

• Dragon Fodder, Hordeling Outburst, Krenko's Command, Tempt with Vengeance, Siege-Gang Commander - Token generators
• Goblin Surprise, You See a Pair of Goblins - Anthem effect
• Goblinslide - Pet card! I like imagining that my spells overflow with little goblins
• Krenko, Mob Boss, Tilonalli's Summoner - Creature engine that are much better with haste

Purphoros is by far the best creature payoff, but we have other ways to enhance our 1/1s :)

• Goblin Bombardment: Little lightning bolts
• General Kreat, the Boltbringer, Impact Tremors, Molten Gatekeeper, Purphoros, God of the Forge, Witty Roastmaster - ETB pingers
• Vicious Shadows, Pashalik Mons - Death pingers

Protection

• Goblin Chirurgeon - Sac outlet + protects your board-state.
• Lightning Greaves, Swiftfoot Boots - The fabled duo
• Vedalken Orrery - Protects our spells and helps get around countermagic

Damage Enhancers / Backup commanders

• Fiery Emancipation, Mechanized Warfare, Twinflame Tyrant, Solphim, Mayhem Dominus - In case Torbran gets hated off the table
• Repercussion: Adds a bit more oomf to burn spells + creature damage
• Manabarbs

Final Notes

In case it wasn’t clear, I love this deck and always enjoy piloting it in spite of the shortcomings. Hope you all enjoy reading about the deck as much as I did building it.

If anyone has ideas on how to improve the list, I typically prefer funny cards over powerful ones. Feel free to make suggestions!
