This deck is based on the standard mono-black aggro, but is splashing blue for Battlefield Thaumaturge + Hour of Need combo. The access to Cloudfin Raptor is also really powerful in this scheme and is always a 2/3, usually a 3/4 and can get to a 5/6. Look at the following set up:

turn 1: Watery Grave Tormented Heroturn 2: Island Battlefield Thaumaturgeturn 3: Hour of Need turning both into 4/4 sphinx's...at instant speed on your opponents turn of course!

since this deck is entirely based on a lot of little creatures whittling away, sometimes you get stuck in a board state if you don't have Herald of Torment or Master of the Feast. Hour of Need lets you turn all your little guys into 4/4 flyers to swing for the win!

So after play testing a bit I realized the following:

1.) I seldom bestow, Herald of Torment. So I took two out and put two more Master of the Feast

2.) I like the large destroy/token theme of Hour of Need. It works with the deck and beautifully with Cloudfin Raptor. So I added two Rapid Hybridization, which also help deal with threats much better than Hour of Need if necessary

3.) Gnarled Scarhide is meh, so I replaced them with Rakdos Cackler

4.) I want to test out Pain Seer as this is an aggressive deck with nothing higher than CMC of 3, so I put two in the main board

5.) against most match-ups, Thoughtseize is great but not necessary. So I moved two over to the sideboard.

I will be playtesting this deck this week, so we will see how it does soon enough! please playtest and let me know what you think!
