Unleash Innistrad's Horrors in this Blue/Red control deck !

In this control deck, the goal is to use Instants/Sorceries to trade with our opponent's creatures !Every trade we do become worth it later or is already worth it if we have Things in the Ice , or Mercurial Geist on board.

We get a lot of value due to cards like Things in the Ice which will turn into a monstruosity that can reset the whole board at instant speed !This card does every thing a control deck want :It protect you early with his 4 thoughness, and scale whenever you cast spells (Which will happen, a LOT)

Add to this Mercurial Geist, who can provide game winning turns. It put a lot of pressure since you can basically kill the whole board and then swing for a lot.

Then, the last win con : Rise from the Tides

It is quite costy and slow, but, when it resolves, the game is ether won, or slow down enough for you to keep cleaning your opponent's board while sending zombies to your opponent's face.

Collective Defiance is a mvp here :It may not be worth it to cast it only to use 1 mode. But once you hit 4 lands .. this card become huge.

Got a hand full of lands ? Discard it then draw again !Got huge creature on opponent's side ? Deal it 4 damages !Not enough to kill it ? You have and entire new hand to finish the Job ?Got an extra mana left ? Throw a lightning bolt at yout Opponent's face !

"But discarding instants/Sorceries sucks, i could have casted them !"That's where you're wrong kiddo !Most of our spells still have value in the Graveyard !Cards like Galvanic Bombardment , Take Inventory, Geistblast for example. And you're feeding Rise from the Tides by the way.

Geistblast looks weak at first, but it's real use is it's second ability. If the game is stuck this become the swiss-Knife of the deck.Nothing in your hand ? Cast then copy Take InventoryNeed to kill a huge creature ? Copy Incendiary Flow Want to end the game ? Copy Rise from the Tides

Keep in mind that copying a spell does not cast it again, you're copying it, and yes, if you copy Collective Defiance, you also copy the modes you paid for.

And last but not least, Highland Lake 's art is Gorgeous ! Thanks to Florian de Gesincourt who made this masterpiece.
