Wanted to try my hand at a mono-black deck using a less well-known commander. Always loved Toshiro's art and thought he had a really unique ability (especially for black) so here we are.

General idea is to protect oneself/stall the board long enough to abuse Cabal Coffers/Mana Doubling effects and win via large exasanguinate/Hailfire or via the recursion subtheme with cards like Corpse Dance/Gray Merchant + a sac outlet. It is lacking interaction for non-creature spells outside of Imp's mischief so I'm not sure how it will hold up in a meta with no/little creatures. Would probably need to sideboard in Praetor's Grasp/Sadistic Sacrament and other similar effects to disrupt combos/troublesome cards. Obviously being mono-black means we struggle with enchantments/artifacts: Scour from Existence/All is Dust/Nev's Disk were my attempts to mitigate this but it may not be enough.

Maybe-board is really just a bunch of cards I wanted to toy around with/stuff I can't justify buying right now. Vamp Tutor, Entomb, and Vesuva are likely the next upgrades I'll try to make.
