So, ultimately while I do play Magic casually, I'm mostly a collector. My decks do win on occasion but the flavor is the most important part of most of my builds. I bought Toshiro Umezawa mostly as a collector's card - he's just a really beautiful card. I also got my holographic/foil Midnight Banshee for much the same reason. Knowing Toshiro works well with small black instants that he can reoccur, Malicious Affliction, Go for the Throat, Devour in Shadow etc. I started with that, then I remembered looking up the Banshee on Gatherer and seeing some suggested cards for the it like: Crumbling Ashes, Blowfly Infestation and Kulrath Knight realized that Toshiro could work well with wither/(-1/-1) counter inflicting spells, as well as kill spells and this little Mono-black beast was born.

The basic premise of the deck is to wither and kill you opponents creatures into oblivion using things like Scar, Incremental Blight, Virulent Wound and Grim Affliction to combo with Crumbling Ashes or directly with kill or removal spells. The above can combo with Necroskitter which can also combine with the Banshee, Toshiro, Ashling, the Extinguisher, and direct kill in stealing their creatures. Finally you can use Kulrath Knight to control what they attack and block with. And do all this while inflicting incremental damage. It's slow but if it works you've managed to destroy their board presence, avoid creature damage and probably take and turn their creatures against them. Not a great deck by a long-shot but kind of fun.
