Dominate your opponents with this destructive Dragon deck that is a total DRAG to opponents. Kill all your opponents creatures, gain life AND anticipate your draw! Finally, unleash powerful dragons and (a pair of cruel Planeswalkers) to win the match.
Rationale for each card below:
Lands
The deck includes 19 2-Color Lands. 12 of which give you a 1+life when played. This helps in early turns when your opponent may be attacking you with smaller creatures.
Bloodfell Caves Dismal Backwater Swiftwater Cliffs
Haven of the Spirit Dragon is very useful because it allows you to choose a any color mana you need to cast your Dragons. Haven of the Spirit Dragon
Smoldering Marsh and Sunken Hollow both enter tapped, but are more useful than one color mana.Smoldering Marsh Sunken Hollow
Creatures
Dragonmaster OutcastDragonmaster Outcast isn't very useful early on but it can be cast early. With some patience on your part, after six lands - you are pumping out a 4/4 Dragon every turn.
Thunderbreak RegentThunderbreak Regent is the best 4 mana Dragon I could find for this deck. It is your earliest playable dragon. At 4/4 with flying it's pretty decent. But the best part is if your opponent decides to mess with it, it automatically deals them 3 damage.
Icefall Regent Icefall Regent is your next playable Dragon. When you cast Icefall you can tap your opponents most threatening creature for as long as Icefall Regent is alive. This is useful against huge creatures, creatures with tap abilities and creatures with flying or reach so you can keep attacking.
Next come the Legendary Dragons.
Silumgar, the Drifting DeathFirst is Silumgar. It has very useful Hexproof which greatly improves it's duration on the battlefield. In addition whenever Silumgar or another dragon attacks your opponents all lose -1-1 which is brilliant against small creatures, or even to lessen the strength of larger ones.
Dragonlord KolaghanKolaghan has Haste, and gives haste ability to all your Dragons. This is very useful for attack power when you start casting your Dragons later in the game. However Kolaghans REAL power comes in it's ability to take 10 of opponents life every time they cast a card that is already in their graveyard. Since a)most players have 4 of every card in their deck and b)you have already killed so many of their creatures - the likelihood your opponent will do this is very high. 10 lives can win the game at this stage.
Dragonlord SilumgarSilumgar is my favorite of all the Legendary Dragons because aside from having toughness of 7 and Deathtouch - when you cast it you can gain control of your opponents most powerful creature OR Planeswalker. It is very satisfying to take control of your opponents Ugin, the Spirit Dragon or other super powerful Planeswalkers. T
Planeswalkers
Speaking of Ugin, I had him in the deck originally but took him out. This deck already requires patience so less mana-cost Planeswalkers seemed a better choice.
Ob Nixilis ReignitedNixilis costs less than your Legendary Dragons and gives you card draw abilities and more elimination domination.
Sarkhan, the DragonspeakerSarkhan is the Dragonspeaker after all. Sarkhan gives you more Dragon power by turning into a 4/4 indestructible Dragon and more destructive and draw power.
There are no artifacts or enchantments to destroy in this deck!
Instants
Draconic RoarA wonderful removal instant that can kill pesky creatures with 3 or less toughness like the ever present Mantis Rider . And since you will very likely have at least one Dragon in your hand it also deals 3 damage directly to your opponent.
AnticipateThis card is extremely useful early on when you need a little more control over your hand. Getting more control over your next move is always very useful.
Foul-Tongue Invocation Another amazing removal spell that forces your opponent to sacrifice a creature. And again, since you will most likely have at least one Dragon in your deck you gain 4 life.
Sorcery
Ruinous PathThis is the best removal spell in the standard mtgo game, in my opinion. You can kill any color creature AND powerful planeswalkers for only 3 mana. Very useful early on against potentially deadly creatures.
Crux of FateClear everything from the Battlefield, except your Dragons that is. It is also useful if you have not cast a dragon and your opponent is filling up the battlefield with Elves, Allies or Warriors. Bye-bye!
Fearsome AwakeningIf one of your deadly Dragons has been destroyed, bring it back to life - directly onto the battlefield and even more powerful than before!
